2018 Directions for Test Administrators for Testing Days

Before testing:
● Post signs and cover or remove materials in class that might be visual aides.
● Distribute all test books, answer books, and pencils as directed per instruction
sheet.
● Remind students to turn off cell phones. For EOG testing cell phones are not
allowed in the classroom for students or teachers.
● Have students place all belongings, cell phones, notebooks etc., at front of the
room.
● Contact the office immediately if any test or answer books are missing.
● Set aside test and answer books for absent students.
● Be Positive! Encourage students to relax and do their very best on the tests.
(Before testing materials are passed out)
● Plan to start reading script when announcement is made to begin testing. (Ranging
between 8:30 and 8:45) Read script verbatim and keep time carefully.
During testing:
● Begin testing on time to ensure daily schedule can be followed.
● Post start & stop times on board.
● Students have 3 hours to take the benchmark (and extra) and 4 hours for the EOG.
Students will not be taken out to finish testing until testing has ended or only a
few students are testing. I will be coming around to check.
● Students who need to be removed from a testing room during testing must be
escorted out after the office has been notified. Students cannot be sent out on their
own.
● Note absences on a post-it. Place it outside on your door by 9:00.
● Please remember your classroom must be quiet during testing. Noise travels to
other rooms and to other floors and could disturb other test takers.
● If students are using calculators, make sure they use only the calculator that you
provide. (Checked out from Ms. Faulkner)
● Do not leave your classroom during testing. If an emergency arises, call the office.
Someone will come and relieve you.
After testing:
● Collect test books and answer books in alphabetical order – two stacks.
● MAKE SURE ALL STUDENTS HAVE WRITTEN THEIR NAMES ON THEIR
ANSWER SHEETS AND HAVE BUBBLED IN THEIR TEST BOOK FORM
NUMBER and GROUP CODE NUMBERS ON THEIR ANSWER SHEETS!
● Please keep materials secure until you can return them to my office. (Materials must
stay with you)
● Students are to remain with their homeroom until announcement is made to move.
● Keep the pencils and sharpen them for the next test days. Return all pencils with
your box at the end of testing on the last testing day.
● Turn in testing signs.
Return only these items. Organize your box in this manner, 1 on top to 8 on bottom:

1. Cover sheet “Absent Students” (if any)

2. Absent students’ unused answer books (if any)
3. Absent students’ unused test books (if any)
4. Class roster
5. Stack of used answer sheets in alphabetical order
6. Stack of used test books in alphabetical order
7. Stack of white paper/graph paper/periodic table
8. Testing sign

Please refer to the grade level testing and lunch schedules to ensure your homeroom is
keeping to the schedule. Administration will make an announcement when testing is over
and the schedule can be followed. If testing is taking place during set lunch times, I will
come around and let you know when to go pick up lunch. This has to be done quietly as
others may still be testing.
