Description of the artifact and how it meets the standard and criteria:

For this artifact, I have uploaded a sample of a completed student goal sheet. I had all
of my students set a their own academic goal for this quarter. Before students wrote
their goals, we brainstormed a list of possible goals and talked about setting realistic,
but challenging, goals.

Reflection on the artifact:

Setting goals is an important tool for my students. It is important that my students look towards
the future and what they want to accomplish. I have found that it also increases student
motivation. When I remind my students that they need to keep working hard to achieve their
goal, I see an improvement in their work ethic. I am also able to use their goal sheet to aid in
classroom management. On each goal sheet, students wrote down three things that they were
going to do in order to achieve their goal. If they are not doing the things they said they would, I
can pull the goal sheet out and remind students of their plan that they come up with. Setting
goals with my students is something that I want to continue to do. Next year, I plan to have
students set a goal each quarter to expand this practice.
