Benedicite Dominum, or the Canticle of the Three Young

Men is taken from the Old Testament book of Daniel (Dan.
3, 57-88; 56). It is used at Lauds for Sundays and feast days.

BENEDICITE, omnia BLESS the Lord, all ye

opera Domini, Domino; works of the Lord, praise
laudate et superexaltate and exalt Him above all
eum in saecula. forever.

BENEDICITE, caeli, BLESS the Lord all ye

Domino, benedicite, angeli heavens; bless the Lord all
Domini, Domino. ye angels of the Lord.

BENEDICITE, aquae omnes, BLESS the Lord all ye

quae super caelos sunt, waters that are above the
Domino, benedicat omnis heavens; let all powers
virtutis Domino. bless the Lord.

BENEDICITE, sol et luna, BLESS the Lord, ye sun and

Domino, benedicite, stellae moon; stars of heaven,

BENEDICAT terra LET the earth bless the

Dominum: laudet et Lord; let it praise and exalt
superexaltet eum in Him above all forever.

colles, Domino, benedicite, mountains and hills;
universa germinantia in everything growing from
terra, Domino. the earth, bless the Lord.

BENEDICITE, maria et BLESS the Lord, seas and

flumina, Domino, rivers; fountains, bless the
benedicite, fontes, Domino. Lord.

BENEDICITE, cete, et BLESS the Lord, ye whales

omnia, quae moventur in and all that move in the
aquis, Domino, benedicite, waters; all you fowls of the
omnes volucres caeli, air, bless the Lord.

laudate et superexaltate and exalt Him above all for

BENEDICAMUS Patrem et LET us bless the Father and

Filium cum Sancto Spiritu; the Son, with the Holy
laudemus et Spirit; let us praise and
superexaltemus eum in exalt Him above all for
saecula. ever.

BENEDICTUS es in BLESSED art Thou, Lord, in

firmamento caeli et the firmament of heaven;
laudabilis et gloriosus in and worthy of praise, and
saecula. glorious above all for ever.
