PROFILE

I am a curator and multi-disciplinary artist living and working between Brasília and the UK. My interest in the arts initially began
as influenced by the music scene and the cultural activities found Brasília, Brazil. Living in this modern city made me aware of
its ethnographic characteristics in which I explored its psycho-geography and multicultural traits by making drawings and
paintings. In Brasília, I also performed with a choir that involved singing, dancing, in which I also drew costumes for shows.

After moving to the UK I studied to teach English as a Foreign Language and a Higher National Certificate in Art and Design
with Merit. Then I achieved a BA in Fine Art with Honors and in 2017 an MA in Contemporary Curation with Distinction. Over
the years my practice has become more philosophical and more concerned with existentialist principles in which I began to
question ‘identity’ as a result of cultural ‘facticity’ (the condition one is born into). I purposely work with a variety of mediums
and their amalgamation varying from film, sculpture, painting, installation and performance art.

In relation to my curatorial approach in most cases, the narratives hold an epistemological to generate knowledge and reach
the public. In both of my practices either as a curator or as an artist, I aim to instigate social consciousness and to question the
significance of the ‘being’ socially in the materialistic world. My multi-disciplinary experience came very handily coupled with
my work experience when curating shows and communicating with artists. I am friendly and outgoing and really interested in
people’s story. I enjoy working in collaboration as it allows me to grow and find a sense of purpose within my work. I believe in
the power of community and social support to educate inspire and bring development.
