Subject: Marks compensation due to Mistake on Behalf of Paper Setter in “Question no. 8 (D) of General
Science and Ability Paper CE-2018”.

Respected Sir,
It is to be highlighted here, that in the Paper of General Science and Ability CE-2018, a
mistake in the question paper was found after I completed my paper. The Question no. 8 (D) in the
subjective part having statement:
Wrong Statement: In a certain code language LANDMINE is written as PYRBOGRC. How will
HOMEMADE be written in that code language?
Now there is a mistake in the question and, there is absolutely no decoding pattern that can be used to
decode it. The mistake here is that in “PYRBOGRC” the fifth letter should be “Q” and not “O” and the
correct statement should be:
Correct Statement: In a certain code language LANDMINE is written as PYRBQGRC. How will
HOMEMADE be written in that code language?
Only and only then, the answer can be found. The actual pattern has been derived by me but in the rough
work. And I am not aware of the fact if FPSC, considers the rough work. However, due to this mistake
many students left this part of the respective question.
Hence, it is to be requested that students who attempted this question but could not solve it due to a
discrepancy on behalf of FPSC, should be awarded due marks.
