Structuring the Method Chapter

Posted on February 7, 2015by Cikgu UmmI

While it is often referred to Chapter 3, a method chapter for a quantitative study could be written in
Chapter 4 for a developmental study where methods for development are discussed in Chapter 3 while
Evaluation of the product method are discussed in Chapter 4. Both chapters can also be included in one
chapter with two division. Chapter 3 division I is for Methods of the Media Development while Chapter 3
division II is for Methods of the Media/Program Evaluation. An example of contents to be included in the
method chapter would be as follows:

CHAPTER III: RESEARCH METHOD

3.1 Introduction
3.2 Research Location and Site
3.3 Research Design
3.4 Population and Sample
3.5 Measurement and Instrumentation
3.6 Validity and Reliability of the Instrument
3.7 Results of Pilot Test of the Survey Instruments
3.8 Data Collection Procedure
3.9 Data Analysis Procedure
3.10 Data Screening and Cleaning
3.11 Methods of Extracting Factors and Test of Assumption
followed by the key criteria use for data testing and your first generation statistical method such as
multiple regression or your second generation statistical analysis such as CD-SEM or PLS-SEM

following that, add a section to discuss hyphoteses and their statistical tools for their analyses.
