Students categorize each letter as an angle or curve Teacher plays melody of “Old McDonald” on piano and PROCEDURE

Teacher introduces next text to melody: o I can make the letter “U” E-I-E-I-O o And you can make the letter “I” E-I-E-I-O o With a twist twist here, and a twist twist there o Here a twist, there a twist, everywhere a twist twist o It’s so fun what we can do, E-I-E-I-O Add motions to song creating the letters mentioned with body and clapping on “E-I-E-I-O”- walk in a circle on last phrase (A Section) For B section, allow one student to choose an ABC letter card and students create that letter with their body and identify if it is an angle or curved shape Extension: During “B” section allow students to form letters in groups of 2 or 3, specify if the letter has to made standing or on the ground (after playing high/low on an instrument)
