A Description of the TechLite Lumen Master 200 Lumens High-

Intensity CREE XPG L.E.D Tactical Flashlight

Introduction
Flashlights have played a crucial role in today’s society ever since Thomas Edison first invented
the lightbulb. Many people use them for camping, work, projects, games, and just about any time
they want to see in the dark. Overall, they are a very practical and useful piece of equipment. The
TechLite Lumen Master 200 Lumens High-Intensity CREE XPG L.E.D Tactical Flashlight in
particular is an exceptional all-purpose flashlight. For those who are unaware of what a Lumen
is, it is another unit in which one can measure the amount of light emitted from an object. In fact,
200 Lumens is a great amount of light from a small flashlight. It is this powerful LED beam,
durability, portability, simplicity, and ease of use that makes this flashlight a perfect fit for any
situation requiring a light source for visibility.
The TechLite Lumen Master 200 can be disassembled and broken down into 3 primary
parts: 1) The body of the flashlight, 2) The battery holder, and 3) The back end of the flashlight.

The Body
First, the body of the flashlight is the largest component, and contains all the wires and circuits
that connect to the LED at the front. The scratch resistant, clear, polycarbonate lens at the front
of the flashlight serves to protect the LED within and to amplify the light emitted from the LED
to create a clear and effective beam while in use. The body
is also the most distinct component, featuring a sleek, black
aesthetic shape made from Aircraft-Grade Aluminum. The
thinnest part of the body serves as the handle, and its rough-
textured portion provides a great grip for the user. This
handle portion is also hollowed out and serves as the battery
holder compartment. Inside the hollowed out portion, you
will find a metal wall that serves as a conductor to allow the transfer of electrical currents to the
LED.
The Battery Holder
Second, the battery holder is made of a clear plastic that
perfectly encapsulates three AAA batteries needed to operate
the LED light. The battery holder contains small springs
inside the battery compartments to keep the batteries secure
when taken out of the body. The battery holder itself fits
perfectly inside the body, and also has a protruding metal
spring to transfer electricity from the batteries to the LED in
the body portion of the flashlight via touching the metal wall inside the body of the flashlight.
The Back End
The last major component of the TechLite Lumen Master 200 is the
back end of the flashlight. This part contains many key features that
control the entire flashlight. The most important portion of the back end
is the button, located on the very backside of the part. This multi-
function rubber button can be pressed to switch the mode of the
flashlight. The TechLite has four modes: 1) Low Light Output, 2) High
Light Output, 3) Emergency Strobe, and 4) Off. A single press of the
button switches the setting, and the flashlight is built to continuously run
this loop of settings with each press. Thus, one can press the button until
they reach the desired setting. The back end also contains a spring inside
the hollowed out portion that gets inserted into the body to help keep the battery holder even
more secure. The threads on the chrome portion is used to interlock itself with the body to
become one whole piece, and to provide exceptional rigidity so the two pieces won’t budge no
matter what may happen to the flashlight.

Specifications
In order to replicate and produce the TechLite Lumen Master 200, specific manufacturing
processes and materials need to be used and followed. The following measurements and
materials needed are the dimensions and observations taken from a personal family-owned
flashlight. The specifications that follow in the tables below are brief descriptions, whereas the
Technical Drawing provides a much more detailed description of the flashlight’s exact
dimensions.

Safety
When using the TechLite Lumen Master 200, there are a few precautions people need to be
aware of. The first precaution people need to be aware of is the limitations of the flashlight,
including battery life and maximum output range. Because users will be using the flashlight in a
dark environment, they will be relying on the flashlight to see their surroundings at all times it’s
on. However, the TechLite Lumen Master 200 only has a 1-hour battery life while operating on
the High Light Output setting, and still only 4 hours for the Low Light Setting. Furthermore, the
TechLite Lumen Master 200 has a maximum range of about 150m. Thus, operators will need to
pack extra AAA batteries if they wish to see in dark environments for an extensive period of
time, and so no unwanted injuries or accidents can occur. Second, users will want to be cautious
while operating with the flashlight because of the light intensity of the LED. No matter what
setting the flashlight is in, users should never point the flashlight at another persons’ eyes. Doing
so may result in temporary or permanent blindness or eye damage.
Furthermore, users have the ability to use the Strobe light in case of emergencies. While
this feature serves its purpose well in the case of emergencies, or as a way to communicate with
others their position or condition, users should never use this setting in other unbeneficial or
inappropriate settings.

Conclusion
In summation, the TechLite Lumen Master 200 is an exceptional flashlight. The flashlight is very
light, durable, simple, easy to operate, and extremely portable to take on any expedition
(measuring out at a total of about 4.34 inches). But above all, it is very practical because it is
very good at its one function: to provide light to see in the dark. If one is looking for a good all-
purpose flashlight to look through their attic, use on a camping trip, or just needs one in general,
then the TechLite Lumen Master 200 may very well be a great fit for them.
