FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the name of a male victim of a
shooting that occurred earlier today in Champaign, Illinois. Micheal D. White, age 26, of
Chicago, Illinois was pronounced dead at 1:01PM in the Carle Foundation Hospital
Emergency Department located in Urbana, Illinois. Mr. White was reportedly shot while
walking near the 1300 block of Sunset Drive in Champaign, Illinois. An autopsy is
scheduled for Thursday, March 8, 2018 at the coroner’s office. This death is under
investigation by the Coroner and the Champaign Police Department.
