DESIGN OF THREE STAGE LINE DECODER USING

MGDI TECHNOLOGY
ABSTRACT
The demand for applications consuming low power and area is very
much evident today in the modern age, with the ever reducing size of
applications and increase in need for compactness. Modified Gate Diffusion
Input (MGDI) is a novice technology, succeeding the GDI Technology.

This technique notably overcomes the disadvantages of design, using

CMOS and GDI technologies such as “Swing Degradation”, “Fabrication
Complexity”, and “Cost of production”, evidently resulting in high speed,
better error performance, easy implementation.

The project is an effort is made to come up with one such application is

3 to 8 decoder using AND gate. Decoders are integral parts of computing
devices and are used in conjunction with Microprocessor Memory Systems,
I/O systems, Instruction Decoding, Memory Chips and many others.

The project has been implemented using TANNER EDA 13.0. The
simulation results justify the essence of Modified GDI being a better design
technology as compared to CMOS and GDI, which have been used for a
comparative analysis.
