Technical Description ‘QL’ Type Interlocks

SFC 'QL' Interlocks for Lever-operated 90° Quarter-turn (Ball, Butterfly and Plug)
valves are basically 3-part assemblies:-

- The Totally-Sealed Coded Lock Body.

- The Lock Lever.
- The Lock to Valve Coupler. (Mounting Kit)

SFC 'QL' Interlocks are supplied as precision investment castings in stainless steel
and are available in a range of two sizes to suit the diameter range of lever-
operated valves.

The lock body is supplied as a 'sealed-for-life' totally maintenance-free assembly.

Bespoke units:

The spindle adaptor and lock anchor are purpose machined to suit the geometry
of the valve spindle and bonnet. The spindle adaptor is machined as an exact
facsimile of the centre detail of the original valve lever and is fixed onto the valve
spindle in precisely the same manner as the original valve lever which it replaces.

The lock anchor is machined to the same geometry as the valve bonnet and
locates over the spindle adaptor as a "saddle" fit to the valve bonnet. The totally-
sealed lock body then locates onto the installed adaptor set and the entire
assembly is secured by the fixing of the lock lever which ties the lock body and
spindle adaptor together. The entire assembly is secured by tamperproof fixings.
