COMPARATIVES AND SUPERLATIVES

When we deal with comparatives and superlatives, we mean adjectives. That is to say, to
compare and / or highlight something we make use of adjectives.

COMPARATIVES (2 ENTITIES)
Rules

Normal adjectives + er (than) She is nicer than me


(most of the adjectives)
One syllable adjectives double last letter + er + Spain is hotter than England
ending CVC (than)

all adjectives ending with -y + ier ( than) This is funnier than going
running

more than 2 syllables more + adj + than We are more intelligent than
them.

SUPERLATIVES (AN ENTITY IS HIGHLIGHTED)

Rules

Normal adjectives the+ adj + est She is the nicest in class

But…we have irregular adjectives. So study them as exceptions
