CHAPTER V

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSION, AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary of Findings

The researchers find out that the device detects when someone twisted the door knob in a

downward direction. After conducting a survey of 20 respondents, the data of the effectiveness of

the device are determined in which all the respondents that with a distance of 1 cm upon twisting

the door knob the alarm does not detect. However, all respondents agree and observe that the

alarm detects when they twisted the door knob with a distance of 3 cm and 3 out of 20

respondents observe that the alarm detects with a distance of 2 cm. Using the data from the

survey, the chi-square is computed and it is 49.2 respectively and the tabulated value is 28.869.

Conclusion

The researchers are able to construct an alternative home door alarm and test how

effective is the device through twisting the door knob in a downward direction in which at a

distance of 3 cm, the device produces a sound.

Recommendations

The researchers would like to recommend the following for the improvement of the study:

1) Further improvement of the structure and appearance of the device to make it profitable.
2) Find a new strategy to make the device detects easily upon twisting the door knob.
3) Try another kind of door locks upon doing the testing process instead of knob locks.
4) Find an alternative material that produces a buzzing sound instead of buying a buzzer at

the electronic shop which is expensive.
