FREQUENCY TABLES

EXAMPLE
Recorded below are the number of goals scored by a football team in the first 20 matches of
the season.

NOTES
 The heights of the bars tell us the frequencies.
 In a bar chart the bars are always the same width.
 The number of goals scored is written underneath each bar.
 For discrete data, a bar chart may or may not have gaps between the bars. If there are
gaps, then the gaps must be the same width as each other.
Exercise:
1) Jo did an investigation into the colours of shirts worn by some football teams.
He recorded the colour of the shirts for each team.
There were only five different colours.
Jo then drew a frequency table and a bar chart.
