Crane Operation
Name of the Project : Metro Link Express for Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad, Package-4A

The Crane operator should familiarize with the following points.

1. Make sure that all the controllers are in ‘Off ‘ position closing the main switch

2. Never pick a load behind the capacity of the crane

3. Do not raise lower the crane hook whilst it is out of your site, unless it is being a directed by a

slinger.

4. Do not allow the crane hook to rest in such a that the rope become slack, stop the crane and

report.

5. While making any movement especially when rising are lowering the load, be sure that safety

clear all the obstructions.

6. Never allow any man to ride on a rope, sling or crane hook.

7. Never use more than two controls at a time.

8. Avoid the swinging the load.

9. Avoid carrying the load over persons on the floor.

10. While carrying loads keep the load well clear of the men on the floor.

11. Do not limit switch as a controller for the hoist never try to stop the crane travel by reversing the

controllers. Never move the crane beyond the long travel limit by manipulating the controller.

Before moving the crane using warning device.

12. Never suddenly stop a load while lowering.
