March Book Project - Animal Research

Due date is April 26th, 2018

March Book Projects are going to be a non-fiction genre, specifically; it will

be research on an animal.

The animals were assigned through a drawing. The second grade teachers
chose a list of animals. We wrote the name of each animal on a piece of paper and
each student drew one from a basket.

This book report will be a project rather than a report. The project will
require some research of the chosen animal. This research will be done in class.
Instead of a written report, the information will be applied to a poster board. The
students will bring the research home to complete the poster. A diorama of the
animal in its habitat can be included for extra credit.

The expected elements for the poster are as follows:

 The name of the research animal in large letters as a header.

 The research information from school included on the poster.
 Several pictures of the animal with captions.
 A map showing range where animal would be located.

We will send the information home to parents on April 16 th to complete the poster
portion of the project. Let your teacher know if you have any questions.
