Categorizing Ways of Entering and Exiting Indian

Classical Instrumental Raga Music

In this study we try to Categorize Ways of Entering and

Exiting Indian Classical Instrumental Raga Music by
computational methods , this analysis can be used to
establish versatility of a indian classical music
performance and can be used to evaluate skill of a indian
classical musician in a more objective way.

Manual onset annotation of 2 Instrumental Raga performance : Raga
Desh and Raga Rageshri

Finding the Minimum time duration between 2 onsets , we can ignore
some onsets which are very small in time ( seconds )

Yinfft algorithm : This algorithm was derived from the YIN algorithm. In
this implementation, a Fourier transform is used to compute a tapered
square difference function, which allows spectral weighting. Because
the difference function is tapered, the selection of the period is
simplified.

Construction of frequency time graph

Visually categorizing the graph and then trying to the same
computationally using techniques like curve fitting.
