Sew in ends as you go if you are changing colors 
Ch – Chain 
Slp St – Slip Stitch 
HDC – Half Double Crochet 
DC – Double Crochet 
DCC  ‐ Double Crochet Cluster 
(DOUBLE CROCHET CLUSTER all in same stitch) *yarn over go into st, pull thru, yarn over pull through 2 
loops, yarn over go into st, yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over go into st, yarn over pull through, yarn 
over pull through 2 loops, (4 loops on hook) then yarn over and pull through all 4 loops on hook. Double 
Crochet Cluster Made (DCC), 
FPdc – Front Post Double Crochet ‐yarn over insert hook behind and back out of cluster stitch, yarn over 
pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull through last 2 loops on hook (FPdc made) 
FPHDC – Front Post Half Double Crochet 
Round 1  
Ch 5, Make, slip st to first ch to create loop. Ch 4 Counts as 1 st   DC ch1 
  
*DC crochet into loop and ch 1*, repeat 11 more times (total of 12) ending with a chain 1, slip st to the 
beginning chain in the 3 rd  ch. 
 
( if you are changing color  chain up 1 and fasten off, insert to any ch 1 space and chain up 2) 
Row 2 
 
Sl st into next chain one space, chain 2, (DOUBLE CROCHET CLUSTER all in same stitch)),  
Chain 4 repeat in next ch 1 sp (Corner), then ch 2, in next chain 1 space DCC, chain 2, DCC in next ch 1 sp, 
chain 4 (creates corner) DCC in next ch 1 space, ch 2, DCC in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, DCC in next ch 1 sp, ch 
4(corner), DCC in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, DCC in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, DCC in ch 1 sp, chain 4(next corner), DCC in 
next ch 1 sp, ch 2, DCC in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, ch 2, slp st to top of cluster. (Total of 12 puff stitches) 
(if you are changing color chain up 1 and fasten off weave in ends, grab new color attach in any chain 4 
space chain 3).......if not

slp st to next chain 4 space and chain 3, DC 3 in same space, chain 3, put 4 more DC in same space, FPdc 
yarn over insert hook behind and back out of cluster stitch, yarn over pull through 2 loops, yarn over pull 
through last 2 loops on hook (FPdc made), DC in next chain 2 space, FPdc around next cluster stitch, DC in 
next ch 2 space, FPdc around next cluster, in next space 4 DC, ch 3, 4 DC(corner made), FPdc next cluster, in 
 next sp DC, FPDdc around next cluster, DC in next ch 2 sp, FPdc  around next cluster, 4 DC, ch 3, 4 DC 
(corner), FPdc around next cluster, DC in next ch 2 sp, FPdc around next cluster, DC in ch 2 sp, FPdc around 
next cluster, in next space 4 DC, ch 3, 4 DC(corner made), FPdc next cluster, in next sp DC. FPdc around next 
cluster, DC in next ch 2 sp, FPdc  around last cluster, sl st to top of chain 3.

Row 4 
Ch 2, HDC into next 3 stitches, in next chain 4 space put 2 HDC, ch 2, 2 HDC(corner), HDC in next 4 sts, at 
front post double crochet you will put a Front Post Half Double from right to left yarn over pull through 
yarn over and pull through all 3 loops FPHDC made, HDC in next st, FPHD around the FPDC, HDC in next 
stitch, FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next 4 sts, in chain 4 sp 2 HDC, ch 2, 2 HDC (corner), HDC in next 4 
sts, FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next st, FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next st, FPHDC around next 
FPDC, HDC into next 4 sts, 2hdc, ch 2, 2hdc in same sp (corner), HDC in next 4 sts, FPHDC around next FPDC, 
HDC in next st, FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next st, FPHDC, around next FPDC,  HDC in next 4 sts, 
FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next st, FPHDC around next FPDC, HDC in next st, FPHDC around next 
FPDC, HDC into next 4 sts, 2hdc, ch 2, 2hdc in same sp, slip st to beginning ch 2. 

                                
 
If changing color  Chain up 1 and fasten off, attach new color to any corner...If you are not changing color 
sl st into the next 5 sts to corner 
Row 5 Chain 3 (counts as 1 st  DC), DC into same chain 2 sp, ch 2, DC 2,(Corner), 1 DC in  BETWEEN  next 16 
stitches, in *next ch 2 space 2 DC, ch 2, 2 DC(Corner),1 DC in  BETWEEN  stitches* repeat from* to* till you are 
back at 1 st  corner slp st to beginning chain 3 fasten off and weave in ends.
