Instrument Used

In this research, the instrument used in gathering data is the researcher-made

instrument. It was constructed based on readings made by the researchers. The

instrument measures the effectiveness of the training and development program that

the company has in increasing employee retention. This profile has the following

arbitrary ratings:

The survey-questionnaire consists of four parts. Part one, was gathered

information on the profile of the respondents as to their age, gender, civil status,

educational attainment, current position in the company and number of year/s in

service; part two, the effectiveness of training and development programs based on the

employee’s perception in terms of hard skills and soft skills; part three, the effectiveness

of the development program in based on employee performance; part four, are the

strategies that are effective in increasing employee retention. The survey-questionnaire

is validated through the help of a professor, Continental Sales, Inc.’s Human Resource

Manager and the company’s employees
