1. The Feynman Lectures for a general overview. These are a treasure.

Read them, learn them,

love them.

2. Landau & Lifshitz for classical mechanics.

3. Griffiths for electricity & magnetism. Some of the problems are rather painful, though. Expect to
develop a lifelong bond with your copy of Mathematica while working through them. If this book is
too advanced for you, try starting with Purcell; if it's too easy (or if you just enjoy pain), go for
Jackson instead.

4. Griffiths for quantum mechanics. Looking back, I particularly like his overview of probability and
wave functions at the beginning. Also, I'd recommend paying close attention to the worked
examples.

5. You guessed it... Griffiths for particle physics too! This book is a great resource for a number of
topics, including special relativity. I also strongly prefer the way he explains particle spin / angular
momentum in this book, so if you find yourself confused by the explanation in his quantum
mechanics book, you might try looking here instead.

6. Binney & Tremaine for astrophysics. I'm less familiar with this book (never used it for a class),
but everyone seems to agree it's the gold standard.

7. We used Riley, Hobson, & Bence - aka "the brick" - as a general resource for mathematical
methods. It's pretty handy as a reference, but kind of terse, so it's not necessarily the best place to see
something for the first time.

8. I learned probability and statistics mostly from A First Course in Probability by Sheldon Ross
(in the context of a computer science course). Many of the worked examples are pretty painful. But
there's a very generous number of problems with solutions, plus plenty more without solutions if you
somehow exhaust those. I solved (almost) all the ones with solutions in preparation for the final
exam; worked like a charm.

9. If you ever find yourself running low on motivation, you might try taking a moment to enjoy some
of Feynman's less technical pieces. In order of increasing technicality, these include Surely
You're Joking, The Character of Physical Law, and QED. I also enjoyed reading his personal letters,
compiled in Perfectly Reasonable Deviations from the Beaten Track.

10. Along the same lines, pretty much anything by Carl Sagan is useful for rekindling the sense
of wonder and curiosity that presumably prompted your intHere are some magnificent physics books
for self study. The list is long. So patiently read it, it may help you for better Self study

Before you start physics one must have clear his/her concept in mathematics especially in calculus,
so I mostly recommend you, if you are a beginner then start read book "Higher math for beginners of
physics students by Ya. Zeldovich"
I think, before you really start learning physics, you must love physics, because when you love
physics you study it from heart not by any pressure. Physics will be interesting for you. So read " For
the love of physics by Walter lewins"
You start physics from really easy one written by great author of all time Albert Einstein. It's way of
approching physics in a familiar and easy manner by his book " Evolution in physics"

You're now ready to explore your high school physics knowledge which is basically calculus based .So
you first start physics which have more conceptual and showed you how physics can applied to our
life style & which can generate more interest towards the physics
I suggests "University physics by Hugh D. Young" and "Fundamental of physics by Halliday Resnik
Walker" is best option for anyone who begins to study physics. One student must read those books
definitely and do all the problems of these books especially from fundamental of physics bcg it's
question is more difficult & for theory follow university physics
You can study an amazing Book written by Jearl Walker "The Flaying circus of physics" .it helps you
apply your knowledge of physics in real world problems & make physics more fun.

Other books can also be best option for you like "Physics for scientists and engineers by 1-Randall d.
Knight
2-By Serway jewett
3- By Tipler
Those books clear your concept in an analytical and strategic way

Two other two books which will clear your basic concept deeply, and those are
"Inquiry into physics by Vern D. Ostadiek" and "Conceptual physics by Paul G. Hewitt"
Here are some best books ever written by Soviet Russ authors
"Senior physics By IK kikoin" , "Textbook of Elementary Physics by G.S Landsberg" it consists of four
volumes, "Physics for Everyone by L.D. Landau, A.I. Kitaigorodsky",it also has four volumes and
other book is "General physics by I.V. savelyevsavelyev"(2 vol)
We have already considered many books which clear our theoretical part. let's move to problem part
(which is the application of physics theory to Real world problems)
Before you try to solve problems read one of the best book " General methods for solving physics
problems by B.S. Belikov"
Before you do actual problems first master the illustrations and act of doing problems by the book
"(Schaum's Solved Problems) Alvin Halpern, 3000 solved problems in physics-McGraw-Hill"

You now ready to do problems, One of the Best problems book is "Problems in General physics by IE
Irodov". Students really get hard to solve it because one should have deep knowledge in concept in
physics.
I have tried a way which has helped me solve it's problems very easily by the book " Law of
mechanics by IE Irodov". It's example crystal clear your concept and you will master it's problems

Here are some famous problems book ever by some Soviet Russ author
1- Problems in elementary physics by Bukhovtsev
2-Aptitude test problems in physics by SS kurutov
3-Problems in physics by AA Pinsky
4-Problems integral physics by V.S. Wolkenstein
5-Selected problems in physics by R. GladkovaGladkova
6- A collection of questions and problems in Physics by L.A. Sena.
When you master all these Basic part of physics just move to specialised content that you will study
it in greater detail.
For mechanics plz study theoretical part from "An introduction to Mechanics by Daniel Kneppner"
and read examples and problems from " Introduction to classical mechanics by David Morin". It is
one of the best book ever known. It helps to clear students International physics Olympiad

Also "Mechanics & theory of relativity by A.N. Matveev" is really good one. He is a great author of
some best physics book of Soviet Russ
Also there some best books for electricity and magnetism, also in optics ,modern physics
For electromagnetism study one of the great book "Introduction to electromagnetism by
J. Griffiths " .Also Electrodynamics by John David Jackson is a best sold book for this purpose.
You can also prefer "Fundamental of the Theory of electricity by I.E. Tamm" & also "Electricity and
Magnetism by A.N. Matveev"
For quantum mechanics first of all you must be fullfil theoretical Requirements i.e. Minimum you
should clear in linear algebra. I suggest you to start with "Feynman lecture part3" and then move to
"General physics (Molecular physics) by L.D. Landau". Then you are ready to read Quantum
mechanics by Griffith's, which make you master in quantum mechanics.

Last of all one of the extraordinary books ever written in physics by Richard Feynman "Feynman
lectures on physics". It is the book which tells you what physics really is(one of the must read book).
It has 3 volumes set and also best problems books written by Richard Feynman. One must to do
problems from this magnificent problems books
You can not only study physics from these books, but also can study by the help of YouTube. Plz see
Walter lewins lecture at MIT, (MIT open course ware) , then you will actually master the hidden
concept behind physics, those lectures are exceptional and surely going to change your life. Here are
the link to go-

One main thing is you should be passionate about physics and study physics from nature, curious
about how thing change. Ask a big psychological & great unknown physics questions yourself and try
to find it's answer from best book it's called nature and also your mind which have infinite
intelligence
Hope you enjoy this answer. I have given names of different books but you only need to study some
selected books. I also have some extraordinary mathematics books and chemistry books plz
comment, if you need any information about those books

Edit-

1-mechanical universe by Steven C.Frautschi & David L. Goldstein. it is a must read book for
physics lover.

2- The flying circus of physics by Jearl Walker. It answers some basic question from nature by
the help of physics

3- “What if??” & “ Thing explainer” by Randall Monroe. It is a extraordinary book ever written.
It answers that hypothetical question we never imagine. So read it once you'll fall in love with this
book
Here some other best book for physics specialized branch. So have a look to the list
