Learning priority: school readiness

Abdul Hadi, you really remind me how time is flying, in just few months time you are
starting school! How exciting. I think that you have learned many things, and become very
charming big boy, confident user of two languages.

What starting school means is that expectations from your learning increase too, and us
here at An-Nur child care centre need to prepare you for the long road ahead. And that is
just what we were doing, doing some hard work. I set you up with a copy sheet of number
work, you had some white paper fear first so I had to talk you in to it. I was really proud
that all it took in the end was to praise you and be there and have some special one-on-
one time! Your writing lines are a little bit shaky, you clearly feel not so sure about yourself
and confident in this kind of work. But Abdul Hadi, you are calm and positive person to
work with, with great strength in social skills. All of the mentioned are great foundation for
school success!

One of the important skills to learn are hand eye coordination and muscle strength of the
hand that are essential pre writing skills.
Abdul Hadi, daily practice should be on the cards from now on -don’t worry there are
heaps of fun things to do! It doesn’t just have to be writing but colouring, gluing and cutting
and pasting would all be activities requiring planning and concentration.
