Long essay guidelines

The text should be no longer than 20000 characters (no spaces), and it can be shorter.

During our meetings, I will help you define your topic. You should choose a policy issue
that you will evaluate from the point of view of two or more theories of justice. You can
then look for empirical papers to use as background using jstor.org, ideas.repec.org
and/or scholar.google.com. You can also use Wikipedia.org. You will shortlist a couple of
references, preferably published papers, or NBER working papers. For the purpose of the
essay, you will not debate the empirical facts in the references, but take them as given and
elaborate on their meaning from a justice perspective. You will write an outline of your
essay (two pages max), and get it approved by me.
