ISP TRAFFIC CRASH ALERT

The Following Preliminary Information is Being Released by Illinois State Police
District 21

WHAT: Fatal Crash

WHERE: Route 24 @ 1700 E (Ford County)

WHEN: Thursday, March 15, 2018, 10:29 a.m.

VEHICLE: Unit One: Red 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Unit Two: Red 2015 Ford Escape

DRIVER: Unit One: Edwardo D. Rodreguiz, 39, Merrillville, IN

Unit Two: Rosemary E. Posekany, 66, Greenville, MI (Deceased)

PRELIMINARY: Preliminary investigation has indicated the Dodge was traveling

southbound on Ford County 1700E Rd at the intersection of Route 24 and
1700E Rd. The Ford was traveling eastbound on Route 24 at the same
intersection. The driver of the Dodge disobeyed a stop sign and
proceeded through the intersection striking the Ford. The driver of the
Dodge was transported from the scene to Riverside Hospital and treated
for non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford was pronounced
deceased at the scene by the Ford County Coroner.

CHARGES: Rodreguiz was issued a citation for disobeying a stop sign.
