I. CRIMINAL CASES
2. Where the only penalty provided for by law is a fine, the amount thereof
shall determine the jurisdiction of the court. The MTC shall have exclusive
original jurisdiction over offenses punishable with the fine of not more than
Php 4,000.00. (Adm. Cir. 09-94);
1. Criminal Cases not within the exclusive jurisdiction of any court, tribunal or
Regional Trial Courts body except those falling under the exclusive and concurrent jurisdiction of All cases decided by the MTCs in their respective
(RTCs) Sandiganbayan; territorial jurisdiction.

5. All cases on money laundering except those falling under the jurisdiction of
the Sandiganbayan
By Notice of Appeal:
Court of Appeals (CAs) Crimes of Terrorism under the Human Security Act of 2007. 1. From the RTC in the exercise of its original jurisdiction
except those appealable to the Sandiganbayan;
By Automatic Review:
1. From the RTC in cases where the death penalty is
imposed.

(RTCs) a. Actions involving personal property depending on the value of the territorial jurisdiction except decisions of lower courts
property; in the exercise of delegated jurisdiction.
