I am a mum to my little girl Rhiannon who is 3. I also have 4 step children (adults) and 5
step grandchildren who are 3, 4, 5, 6,7
Seeing the rewards of putting in effort with my daughter with educating her. The loving
bond between me and my daughter especially after suffering with post natal depression
as this made it difficult at times.

How did you hear of Home-Start? I saw a poster in my local G.P surgery
Have you any skills or personal experiences which may be relevant to your work as a
volunteer for Home-Start? (e.g. budgeting, cooking, DIY etc)
In my role as a support worker and also as my husband’s carer I am experienced in all
aspects of home living such as cleaning, cooking and looking after finances.
I have a level 3 certificate in Counselling which I feel would be beneficial as the course
teaches listening and empathy skills which I feel would be useful as a home start
volunteer.

As volunteers are in a privileged position visiting families in their own homes and
have contact with young children, Home-Start has a responsibility to ensure that no
one becomes a volunteer who would misuse this trust. Therefore, it is essential
that you complete and sign this form.
The Criminal Records Bureau has a virtual guide which provides a simple and clear
explanation of the disclosure application process.
