1. Arrange the chairs in a circle. for introducing marker
ICE-BREAKER 2. When Ss are all seated, say, “My name is ____________.” and write the phrase on the oneself
board.
3. Stand in front of a student and say, “My name is _____________.” and gesture to
yourself. Point at the student and say, “What’s your name?”
4. If the student does not use the phrase “My name is ___________.” point at the phrase
on the board and say it again. Ask the student to repeat.
5. Do this with every student in the class.

1. Tell students that you are going to play a game to help them get to know one another.  Raise energy someon 15 min.

7. Hand out the cards and tell them to circulate and ask their classmates until they find
someone who does the thing on their card.
8. When everyone is finished, say, “Sit down, please!” and gesture sitting down.
9. Ask students to report what they know about their new classmates.
10. Ask students in English and Spanish, “Did you like that game?”
11. Tell them that in this class they will play a lot of games, and they have to participate and
practice speaking English every day.
12. Tell them they are a team, and that they should never feel ashamed or embarrassed to
speak in English that everyone is learning and that everyone will make mistakes.
