The This project is designed to develop your skills as an integral member of a musical ensemble that
project will promote and plan a number of public performances. It will ask you to consider structured
brief rehearsals and to reflect upon progress made. You will assess appropriateness of a range of
venues, and the technical logistics associated with live performance. Ultimately you will assess
the effectiveness of both the process and performance.
Scenario You are a member of a function band that has decided to hold a number of gigs. These events
will also act as a showcase for your ensemble’s repertoire. The band must decide appropriate
material, assess and eventually choose performance venues, plan and promote the events, and
reflect upon he process over a series of band meetings.

individuals, working within the industry, and investigating the role of professional bodies and unions
