The student studied the basic techniques of digital image processing for their project on identifying Trypanosoma with digital image processing, including image acquisition, enhancement, restoration, morphological processing, compression, segmentation, and representation. They plan to learn how digital image processing can detect the Trypanosoma parasite in human blood for their future work.

TARGETS SET FOR THE WEEK :-
To study about the various techniques involved in digital image processing
PROGRESS/ACHIEVEMENTS FOR THE WEEK :-
The basic techniques involved in digital image processing are - Image acquisition :- Image acquisition is the most easiest step given an image that is already in digital form. Generally, the image acquisition stage involves preprocessing such as scaling etc Image enhancement :- Image enhancement is done to bring out details of the images or to highlight certain features of the images. Image restoration :- Image restoration is a process of removing certain faults from the image like noise, motion blur etc. Morphological processing :- It deals with tools for extracting useful image components in the representation and description of the shape Image data compression :- Image compression is used for reducing the storage space occupied by an image or the bandwidth which is used to transmit it. Segmentation :- It is the process of partitioning a digital into multiple that is easier to analyze. The algorithms for image segmentation are generally based on discontinuity and similarity. Image representation :- It follows the output of the segmentation stage which is usually raw pixel data
FUTURE WORK PLANS :-
To know how digital image processing can be used to detect the presence of Trypanosoma parasite in human blood
