Calculations:

Moisture Content = Mass of Moist Soil - Mass of Dry Soil / Mass of Dry Soil
Moisture Content = (129.63g – 121.59g)/(121.59-83.55g)*100
Moisture Content = 21.14%

Mass of Soil Sample = Total weight – Weight of Glass Plate – Weight of Ring
Mass of Soil Sample = 404.06g – 266.66g – 68.77g
Mass of Soil Sample = 104.63 g

Normal Load = (5kg*10*9.81/1000)

Normal Load = 0.4905 kN

Normal Stress = Normal Load/ Area

Normal Stress = 0.4905 kN/0.0027805 m2
Normal Stress = 176.41 kPa

Shear Load = (14.3*9.81/1000)

Shear Load = 0.140283 kN

Shearing Stress = Normal Load/Area

Shearing Stress = 0.140283kN/0.0027805 m2
Shearing Stress = 50.45 kPa
GRAPH:

NORMAL STRESS, kPa SHEARING STRESS, kPa

176.41 50.45
352.81 71.794
529.221 240.972
705.63 267.2

Note:
Using the equation given by the best fit line when x=0 the result cohesion
c=0.
In reference to trial no. 4,
Ø = tan-1 (267.2/705.63)
Ø = 20.740
