Entering his 18th season as a head coach, Bob Lilley takes the reigns of Riverhounds SC in 2018. Lilley and seven
players join Pittsburgh and its six returners for this season after being a part of the USL-side Rochester Rhinos in
2017.
It is a veteran roster overall, and 18 players have appeared in at least 10 combined USL and MLS games. Kevin
Kerr, Dennis Chin and Ben Zemanski have totaled more than 100 games played at the USL and MLS levels, and
Hugh Roberts nearly joins them as he sits at 99 career appearances.
Only three players have not yet had a season on a USL team. Noah Franke and Thomas Vancaeyezeele are the
club’s rookies, while Bakie Goodman spent last season in the National Premier Soccer League.
Three players, including Joe Greenspan, Joe Holland and Zemanski, appeared in at least one MLS game last year.
Neco Brett and Raymond Lee also have at least one game played at the MLS level.
positional outlook
Riverhounds SC features a young trio of goalkeepers for the 2018 campaign. Dan Lynd carries the most
experience in net, as he holds 11 career USL appearances from 2016-17. Keepers Mike Kirk and Kyle GK
Morton have not yet appeared in an USL game, although they each were rostered on USL teams last year
with the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros and Rochester Rhinos, respectively.

Center backs Joe Greenspan and Tobi Adewole each return for their second straight seasons with
Riverhounds SC. Joining this duo on the interior of the defense are Hugh Roberts and Todd Pratzner. D
Roberts holds four seasons of USL experience and an All-League First Team honor whereas Pratzner is
coming off a 13-appearance rookie campaign with Rochester. Jordan Dover, Noah Franke, Andrew Lubahn and
Ray Lee make up the club’s outside backs. Dover and Lee both arrive in Pittsburgh after spending the 2017 season
with the Rhinos, while Lubahn spent 2017 with the San Francisco Deltas and Franke is a rookie out of Creighton.

Fielding a more attacking-style approach in the midfield, Joe Holland, Ben Fitzpatrick and Christiano
François join long-time Riverhounds SC veteran Kevin Kerr. These four players combined for 28 points M
during the 2017 season at the USL level. Playing more distributive and holding roles in the midfield,
Kenardo Forbes, Ben Zemanski, Mouhamed Dabo, Bakie Goodman and Thomas Vancaeyezeele all join Pittsburgh
for the first time. Forbes and Dabo each have multiple campaigns under their belt in the league whereas Zemanski
carries eight years of MLS experience. Goodman and Vancaeyezeele are poised for their first seasons in the USL.

Strikers Romeo Parkes and Kay Banjo return after spending the 2017 campaign with Riverhounds SC. The
duo accounted for five goals and 15 points last year. Joining Parkes and Banjo on the frontline are Neco F
Brett and Dennis Chin, the holder of the 2012 USL Pro Golden Boot. Brett is two years removed from
scoring seven goals and 17 points with Portland Timbers 2, and Chin has accounted for 25 goals during his
104-game USL career.

Positioned right on the Monongahela River with the skyline of Pittsburgh across the river, Highmark Stadium has
served as the home of Riverhounds SC since its opening in 2013.

The first match ever to be played at the venue pitted the Rob Vincent (PIT) 20
Hounds against long-time rival Harrisburg City Islanders, now 3. José Angulo (PIT/STL) 16
Penn FC, in the 2013 season opener. In front of a sellout of 4. Corey Hertzog (PIT) 13
more than 4,000 in attendance, former Hound José Angulo, 5. Danny Earls (PIT) 5
assisted by Matthew Dallman, would score the first-ever goal
at Highmark Stadium in the 70th minute to give Pittsburgh
the lead in the second half. The score would not hold though as the City Islanders responded with tallies in the
78th and 90th minute for the 2-1 victory.
In the four seasons played at Highmark Stadium, the Hounds have twice held a winning record during the USL
regular season - 2013 (6-3-5) and 2015 (6-2-6). The club is 25-28-20 all-time in USL play on the Mon and has never
hosted a playoff match at the venue.
Outside of league play, the Hounds have hosted nine matches at Highmark Stadium between the Lamar Hunt U.S.
Open Cup and international friendlies.
At the time of its construction, the venue’s FIFA 2-star certified artificial turf was one of only six fields to earn that
designation in the United States.
This past offseason saw Highmark Stadium expand to 5,000 seats in accordance with USSF Division II standards.
The expansion included new rows of seatings along the riverside, allowing fans to take in a brand new and unique
experience of watching soccer on the Mon.
On Hounds gamedays, the club is cheered on faithfully by its supporter’s group, the Steel Army, who are located in
the Paul Child Stand that can be found on the East End of the stadium.

Head Coach Bob Lilley
Announced as the club’s 10th head coach in its history on Nov. 14, 2017, Bob Lilley enters his first
season at the helm for Riverhounds SC.
Lilley comes to Pittsburgh after coaching the USL-side Rochester Rhinos, which he led during two
separate stints (2014-17 and 2010-11). In his six seasons with the Rhinos, Lilley compiled an
82-39-51 regular season record, which includes a 2015 mark of 17-1-10 en route to winning
Coach of the Year honors and the USL Cup. He also was named Coach of the Year in 2010, when
Rochester won the USSF Division 2 Professional League regular season title. The Rhinos made the
playoffs in every season under Lilley and achieved at least a fourth-round finish in the Lamar Hunt
U.S. Open Cup from 2014-17.
Before joining the Rhinos ahead of their 2010 season, Lilley spent the 2007-08 campaign as head
coach of the Detroit Ignition of the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). He earned Coach of the
Year honors, as the Ignition logged a 22-8 record and won the league’s regular season
T he Lilley File championship.
Experience: For three seasons (2005-07), Lilley served as head coach for the Vancouver Whitecaps of the USL
18th year (First with PIT) First Division. While with the club, he guided the Whitecaps to a 33-20-31 overall regular season
record and a league championship in 2006.
Date Hired:
From 2002-03, Lilley was the head coach for the Montreal Impact of the USL A-League. He
November 14, 2017
directed the club to the playoffs both years and amassed a regular season record of 32-15-9, in
addition to winning Coach of the Year honors in 2003.
Alma Mater:
George Mason University, 1987 The Fort Monmouth, New Jersey native began his head-coaching career with the Hershey
Wildcats, which he led from 1997-01. In his five seasons with the USL A-League club, he compiled
Hometown: an 86-46-6 overall regular season record and was named Coach of the Year in 1997, his first-ever
Fort Monmouth, NJ campaign as a head coach. Hershey made the playoffs each season with Lilley at the helm,
including a trip to the A-League final in 2001.

Assistant Coaches
Mark Pulisic - assistant coach
Mark Pulisic joins Riverhounds SC after serving as an assistant coach with the USL-side Rochester
Rhinos during the 2017 campaign.
While with the Rhinos for the 2017 season, Pulisic served under current Riverhounds SC head
coach Bob Lilley. The team posted a 14-7-11 record and advanced to the conference semifinals of
the USL playoffs.
Pulisic and Lilley also have shared ties while at the Detroit Ignition of the Major Indoor Soccer
League (MISL) during the 2007-08 season, in addition to playing together as teammates with
the Harrisburg Heat of the National Professional Soccer League in the 1990s and George Mason
University in the late 1980s.
From 2015-17, Pulisic relocated to Germany to work with the academy of Borussia Dortmund, as
his son Christian Pulisic, a member of the United States National Team, signed a deal to play for
the Bundesliga club.
In 2006, Pulisic assumed head coaching duties of the Detroit Ignition, an expansion team in the
MISL at the time. He led his team to the league final and earned Coach of the Year honors during
his first year at the helm. Following the 2006-07 season, Pulisic was named Director of Soccer
Operations for the Ignition and hired Lilley as head coach for the 2007-08 campaign.
Pulisic began his coaching career at Lebanon Valley College in 1993, when he became head coach
of the men’s soccer program. He later founded the women’s soccer program in 1996. He remained
at the NCAA Division III school until 2005. During this stretch, he also had a brief stint as an assis-
tant coach with the USL’s Harrisburg City Islanders in 2004.
While coaching at Lebanon Valley, Pulisic also played professionally for the Harrisburg Heat from
1991-99. He scored 296 goals in his career with the Heat and has been inducted into the team’s
Hall of Fame.
The Long Island, New York native played at George Mason from 1986-89. He finished his
collegiate career with 81 points in 73 appearances and was inducted into the George Mason
Men’s Soccer Hall of Fame in 2012.
Dan Visser - assistant coach

Dan Visser enters his second-full season as an assistant coach with Riverhounds SC after originally
joining the club in July 2016.
Prior to arriving in Pittsburgh, Visser served as an assistant coach at the United States Naval
Academy during its 2015 campaign. The Midshipmen finished this season with an 8-9-1 overall
record.
From 2013-14, Visser was head coach at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts. The
Lions held a 3-14-0 record during his first year and improved to 5-12-1 in his second season at the
helm.
Visser began his coaching career at the NCAA Division III level, serving as an assistant coach and
recruiting coordinator at Eastern University in St. Davids, Pennsylvania. During his two years at
Eastern, the Eagles compiled a 21-11-2 record and had 11 student-athletes earn All-Conference
honors.
The West Chester, Pennsylvania native played collegiately as a midfielder at Messiah College for
four seasons before graduating in 2008. During this period, the team won three national
championships and accumulated an 89-6-2 record. The two-time team captain also received
Regional All-America honors in 2007.
In addition to his coaching and playing experience, Visser holds an ‘A’ license from the United
States Soccer Federation (USSF) and a National Diploma from United Soccer Coaches, formerly
known as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA).
Hunter Gilstrap - goalkeeping coach

After coaching the club to its most single-season goalkeeper shutouts (eight) since 2011, Hunter
Gilstrap returns for his second straight season as goalkeeping coach with Riverhounds SC.
Logging an 11-season professional playing career, Gilstrap spent six years (2010-14, 16) with
Pittsburgh. In 2010, he was named USL-2 All-League First Team and Goalkeeper of the Year. The
keeper ranks ninth with 102 appearances and second with 25 shutouts all-time in team history.
In 2015, Gilstrap played for the Carolina RailHawks of the North American Soccer League (NASL).
He made nine appearances with the club and also played two games for the USL-side Charlotte
Independence while on loan from the RailHawks.
From 2007-09, the Lexington, South Carolina native played for the Cleveland City Stars. In 2009,
Gilstrap captained the team during its first campaign at the USL First Division level, making 22
appearances for the club. From 2007-08, Gilstrap and the Stars competed at the USL Second
Division level. In 2008, he helped Cleveland City to its first league championship.
His professional career began in 2006, when Miami FC selected him with the No. 13 overall pick
in the USL-1 Draft. At the collegiate level, Gilstrap competed at Clemson University from 2001-04
and attended the College of Charleston for his senior season in 2005.
Gilstrap also currently serves as the Director of Goalkeeping for the Riverhounds Development
Academy (RDA). In 2012, he built the RDA Goalkeeper Academy program.

Kyle Morton joins Riverhounds SC after spending the 2017 season with the Rochester Rhinos. The goalkeeper did not make an
appearance in 2017.
Prior to his time with the Rhinos, Morton played collegiately at James Madison University from 2012-16, as he earned a medical
redshirt during his sophomore campaign. During his redshirt senior campaign in 2016, the keeper was the only James Madison athlete
to play every minute of the season. Morton posted a 1.22 goals-against average (GAA), .741 save percentage and four shutouts en
route to being named Third Team All-Colonial Athletic Association (CAA). As a redshirt junior in 2015, Morton was named Third Team
All-CAA, as he logged a 1.28 GAA, .736 save percentage and four shutouts. He did not miss a minute as a redshirt sophomore in
2014, starting all 22 games for James Madison and tallying nine shutouts – tied for the most in the CAA. His efforts, including three
straight clean sheets in the CAA Tournament, helped the Dukes capture their first conference tournament championship since 2001.
Morton was named to the CAA All-Tournament Team and Third Team All-CAA in 2014.
Before being tagged with the redshirt, Morton held a 3-2-1 record in six starts during his sophomore campaign. The West Chester,

Not making his professional debut until July 4 against the Charlotte Independence, the center back anchored the backline for the
second half of the 2017 schedule. He racked up 27 tackles to go along with 100 clearances, the second-highest total for the team on
the season. His 1,322 minutes ranked second among all first-year Hounds players.
From 2013-16, Adewole played collegiately at George Washington University. As a senior in 2016, the defender started 17 games
and recorded one goal and two assists. Defensively, Adewole helped anchor a dominant backline, which set a program-record nine
shutouts en route to leading the Atlantic 10 Conference with a 0.62 goals-against average. During his junior campaign, he started 16
of his 17 appearances, tallying one goal and two assists on eight shots. In 2014, the defender led the Colonials with 1,329 minutes and
scored a single-season career-best two goals. As a freshman in 2013, Adewole was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Rookie Team. He led
all George Washington freshmen with 1,144 minutes, starting 13 of his 15 appearances. On Oct. 25, 2013, he scored his first collegiate

Playing in the USL since 2015, Raymond Lee joins Riverhounds SC in 2018.
In 2017, Lee played primarily left back for the Rochester Rhinos. Including his two postseason appearances (both starts), Lee registered
25 tackles and 22 interceptions in 16 games played (11 starts). The defender also recorded an assist in the Rhinos’ 2-1 Eastern
Conference Quarterfinals win against the Charlotte Independence.
Prior to signing with the Rhinos, Lee played for Tulsa Roughnecks FC during the 2016 season. He logged 1,459 minutes and four shots
on goal in 19 games played for the USL Western Conference squad.
Originally drafted No. 71 overall by the Philadelphia Union in the fourth round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft, Lee made his MLS debut

selected him in the first round with the No. 10 overall pick of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. He made his professional debut with the Toros
against Tulsa Roughnecks FC on April 22 and MLS debut with Houston on May 17 against the Philadelphia Union.
From 2012-16, Holland competed collegiately at Hofstra University. He led the team in assists (eight) as a senior in 2016 and paced the
squad in goals (eight), assists (nine) and points (25) as a junior in 2015. As a freshman in 2012, he racked up six goals and two assists in
20 appearances en route to being named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Year and Second Team All-CAA.

As a member of the Rochester Rhinos in 2017, Dover started 19 of his 23 regular season appearances and both of the club’s
postseason matches. Including postseason games, the defender tallied the fifth most interceptions (46) and tackles (50) for the USL-
side on the season.
Prior to signing his first professional contract with the Rhinos, Dover competed for Durham United FA of the semi-professional
League1 Ontario in 2016. The Ajax, Ontario, Canada native finished fourth on the team in minutes while logging one goal and one
assist in 16 appearances.
Collegiately, Dover played at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay (UW-Green Bay) from 2012-15. Positioned predominantly at
midfield in college, his highest-scoring effort occurred during his junior campaign, when he totaled three goals and six points. He was

Spending the 2017 campaign with Steel FC, Roberts recorded 25 games played and one goal in the regular season. Including his
postseason start, the defender led Bethlehem with 112 clearances.
From 2014-16, Roberts played for the USL-side Richmond Kickers. In these three seasons, he amassed 74 games played, including
playing every minute of the 30-match 2016 season en route to USL All-League First Team honors. He scored two goals in his Kickers
career, notching a tally in each the 2016 and 2014 seasons.
Roberts played collegiately at George Mason University from 2010-13. He logged 69 appearances (48 starts), six goals and nine assists
in his career with the Patriots. During his senior campaign, he recorded a team and single-season career-high five assists to propel him

Playing for the Rochester Rhinos in 2017, François led the team with six assists despite playing only 12 games (10 starts) due to injury.
He also added a goal to give him eight points on the season. In addition, the midfielder earned a start in both of the Rhinos’ 2017
postseason matches.
Prior to inking a deal with Rochester, François played in Portugal for second-division sides Felgueiras 1932, where he scored three
goals in 26 appearances in 2015-16, and SC Vila Real, where he scored one goal in 14 games played in 2015.
On Jan. 24, 2014, D.C. United selected François via a waiver draft. He did not make an appearance for the MLS-side squad and was
loaned to the Richmond Kickers, where he scored one goal in 10 games played. He made his first professional appearance in the
Kickers’ 3-1 victory over the Hounds on April 5.
Before turning pro, François played at the University of Maryland from 2012-13. As a freshman, he played in all 24 games and totaled
five goals and four assists on 35 shots. He redshirted his sophomore campaign before leaving Maryland for the waiver draft.
François attended St. Benedict’s Preparatory School in Newark, New Jersey, where he played prep soccer for two seasons. Racking up
44 goals and 22 assists in addition to leading his team to a state title in 2011-12, he was named Gatorade New Jersey Boys Soccer
Player of the Year. In total, François recorded 60 goals and 41 assists over two seasons at St. Benedict’s.

Goodman spent the 2017 campaign with Detroit City FC of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The midfielder started all 15
of his appearances while logging 1,210 minutes, two goals and five assists. Before landing with Detroit City FC, Seattle Sounders FC
of MLS drafted him with the No. 56 overall selection in the third round of the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. Goodman did not appear in a
game with Sounders FC.
Prior to playing in the NPSL, Goodman competed at Georgetown University from 2013-16. Captaining the Hoyas during his senior
campaign, he started all 16 of his games played and tallied an assist with 19 shots. In 2015, Goodman started all 21 matches and
racked up two goals and three assists. He also recorded seven points during his sophomore season, totaling one goal and five
assists. As a freshman, Goodman posted four goals and three assists en route to being named to the BIG EAST Conference
All-Rookie Team.
During his career at Georgetown, the Sarasota, Florida native amassed 80 games played (71 starts), seven goals, 12 assists and 26
points. Three of his tallies were game winners. He also helped the Blue and Gray to three NCAA Tournament appearances, two BIG
EAST regular season championships and a conference tournament title in 2015.
Before competing collegiately, Goodman was a member of the United States U-15 National Team and earned MVP honors on his

Neco Brett arrives in Pittsburgh after competing in the USL Western Conference with Portland Timbers 2.
From 2016-17, the forward played two seasons with Timbers 2. He made seven appearances in 2017 after posting seven goals and
three assists in 28 games in 2016.
Originally drafted by the Portland Timbers in the second round with the No. 40 overall selection of the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, Brett
made one appearance for the MLS squad during the 2016 campaign before joining its affiliated team, Timbers 2. His MLS debut
occurred in a 4-2 win against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on May 22.
Collegiately, Brett starred at Robert Morris University from 2012-15. He posted at least 13 goals and 31 points from his sophomore
season (2013) through his senior campaign (2015), scoring a single-season career high of 15 goals as a junior (which led Division I) and
36 points as a sophomore (which led the nation in regular season scoring). In his career at Robert Morris, Brett finished with 42 goals,
16 assists and 100 points in 67 games played. He was thrice named First Team All-Conference and Northeast Conference Player of the
Year, earning the honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015.
While competing for the Colonials, Brett also spent a season with Reading United of the Premier Development League in 2015 and
Fort Pitt FC Regiment of the National Premier Soccer League in 2014.
The Kingston, Jamaica native has played for the Jamaica National Team at the U-17 and U-20 levels. On March 31, 2011, Brett scored
a goal against Honduras in the group stage of the 2011 CONCACAF U-20 Championship. He also played club soccer in Jamaica for
Portmore United and Harbour View FC before competing at Robert Morris.

Kevin Kerr enters his sixth season with Riverhounds SC as the squad’s longest tenured player. In team history, the midfielder ranks No.
4 in games played (131), No. 1 in minutes (11,166), No. 7 in goals (22), No. 5 in assists (20), No. 3 in points (64) and No. 3 in shots
(159).
In 2017, Kerr was one of two players to appear in all 32 games for the Hounds and led the team with 2,813 minutes and five assists.
The team captain was named USL Player of the Week for week 23 after a four-point performance (one goal and two assists) in
Pittsburgh’s 3-2 victory against Bethlehem Steel FC on Aug. 26.
Named USL All-League Second Team in 2015, Kerr recorded his highest-scoring season for the Hounds, totaling a career-high 10
goals, nine assists, 29 points and 50 shots with the club. On April 13, 2013, Kerr made his Hounds debut in a 2-1 home loss to the
Harrisburg City Islanders. One week later, Kerr tallied his first goal with the Hounds in a 2-1 loss at the Dayton Dutch Lions.
In 2012, Kerr signed with AGOVV Apeldoorn, a second-tier Dutch team. Shortly after his arrival, AGOVV declared bankrupt. As
a result, Kerr, who was born in Münster, Germany due to his father’s military duties, joined German club S.C. Wiedenbruck of the
Regionalliga West, a fourth-tier league.
Kerr signed his first professional contract with Arminia Bielefeld and made his debut for the club in Germany’s second tier in March
2010.
The Scottish midfielder has two caps for the U-21 National Team, which he played for in 2009.

Previously captaining the Rochester Rhinos, Kenardo Forbes inked a deal with Pittsburgh for the 2018 campaign.
Playing for the USL-side Rhinos from 2015-17, the midfielder started at least 20 games each season and led the club with 19 assists
(including playoffs) during this span. As team captain in 2017, he logged three goals and five assists, plus another assist in the playoffs.
In 2016, Forbes recorded three goals and four assists en route to being named USL All-League Second Team. A member of the 2015
USL Cup-winning squad, he totaled three goals and led Rochester with five assists on the season. In the 2015 USL Championship
game, he assisted the game-winning overtime goal, giving the Rhinos a 2-1 win over LA Galaxy II.
In addition to USL play, Forbes has spent seven seasons with the Syracuse Silver Knights of the Major Arena Soccer League from
2011-18. He is the club’s all-time leading scorer and was named the Silver Knights’ MVP for the 2016-17 season, as he led the team
with 42 points.
Forbes began his professional career in 2006 with Naggo Head FC, then a part of the Jamaican National Premier League. After one
season in Portmore, he moved back to his hometown to play for Waterhouse FC from 2007-11 (four seasons) and again in 2014.
Forbes captained Waterhouse for a spell and notably appeared in three matches during the 2014-15 CONCACAF Champions League
Group Stages.

Ben Zemanski arrives in Pittsburgh after spending the past five seasons with the Portland Timbers of MLS.
From 2013-17, the midfielder logged 61 total appearances with the Timbers. In 2017, he also appeared in three games (three
starts) for Portland Timbers 2, the MLS-side’s affiliated team, in addition to registering seven appearances with the top-tier squad.
Although missing the season due to injury, he was a member of Portland’s 2015 MLS Cup-winning squad and helped its overall rise to
prominence. He posted his highest-scoring season with Portland in 2013, accounting for four points (one goal and two assists) in 25
games played while helping the club to its first-ever MLS playoff appearance. He also posted an assist in each of the 2016 and 2017
campaigns, providing him with one goal and four assists during his Timbers career.
Zemanski began his MLS career with Chivas USA, which he played with for three seasons from 2010-12. He appeared in at least 22
games each year and recorded his highest-scoring MLS season in 2011, when he accumulated two goals and four assists for eight
points. In his career with Chivas USA, he racked up 72 games played (58 starts), two goals and seven assists.
Across all eight of his MLS seasons, Zemanski has 133 games played (89 starts), three goals and 11 assists.
Prior to being selected with the No. 47 overall pick in the third round of the 2010 MLS SuperDraft by Chivas USA, the Akron, Ohio
native played collegiately at the University of Akron from 2006-09. Appearing in 86 games over the course of his Akron career, he was
named Second Team All-Mid American Conference during his junior and senior campaigns. As a freshman in 2006, he was selected as
the Zips’ Newcomer of the Year.

Noah Franke enters his first season of professional soccer after competing at Creighton University from 2014-17.
The midfielder racked up 71 games played (43 starts), four goals and 10 assists over the course of his career at Creighton. Franke
logged the most playing time during his junior campaign, recording 1,953 minutes while starting all 23 of his appearances. His junior
season also was his highest scoring of his collegiate career, as he posted eight points (one goal and six assists). As a sophomore, he
netted a single-season career-high two goals, including scoring his first tally with the Bluejays in game-winning fashion during the final
minutes of a match against St. John’s University.
FC Dallas drafted Franke with the No. 80 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2018 MLS SuperDraft. He did not make an appearance
with the club.
Prior to arriving at Creighton, the Orlando, Florida native played for the U-23 team of Orlando City during its run into the third round
of the 2014 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. He also played on the Orlando City U-18 team in 2013-14, when he led the U.S. Soccer
Development Academy in starts percentage by starting all 33 matches for the squad. One year earlier, Franke led the U-18 team in
goals, assists and starts as a co-captain.

Longstanding veteran Dennis Chin brings his goal-scoring prowess and 2012 USL Pro Golden Boot honor to Riverhounds SC in 2018.
Chin most recently played for Ironi Nesher of Liga Leumit, the second tier of professional soccer in Israel. While with the club for its
2016-17 campaign, he netted five goals in 29 appearances.
Prior to playing in Israel, the forward suited up for Ottawa Fury FC during its 2016 season in the North American Soccer League
(NASL). Chin scored one goal in 15 games played with Fury FC. This was his second stint in the NASL, as he previously was loaned
from Orlando City SC of USL Pro to the San Antonio Scorpions for five games in 2013.
In 2015, the striker played the final season of a five-year stretch in the USL with Arizona United SC, where he totaled three goals in 20
appearances.
From 2011-14, the striker played a large part in Orlando City’s success, as he helped the team to two USL Pro Championships in
addition to three regular season titles. As the Lions captured the league championship in 2011 and 2013, Chin scored a combined six
goals in six playoff games. In 2012, he led USL Pro with 11 goals and 24 points en route to being named All-League First Team.
Chin finished his career at Orlando City with 22 regular season goals. Over the course of his time with the Lions (2011-14), he led USL
Pro with six postseason tallies and 15 playoff points.
The Kingston, Jamaica native made his professional debut against the Hounds on May 14, 2011. He came on for Orlando City in the
match as a second-half substitute.

After spending a season in the North American Soccer League (NASL), Andrew Lubahn inked a deal with Riverhounds SC for the 2018
campaign.
In 2017, Lubahn played for the San Francisco Deltas of the NASL. While with the club, he posted an assist in 15 games played (two
starts).
Before suiting up for the Deltas, the midfielder played with USL-side Louisville City FC for the 2016 campaign. In 26 appearances, he
recorded three goals and one assist for seven points.
Lubahn competed for the Harrisburg City Islanders (now known as Penn FC) in 2015. He played in nine games and accumulated a goal
and three assists for the USL-side club.
From 2009-13, Lubahn played collegiately at Wake Forest University. Positioned as a forward, he was named Second Team All-Atlantic
Coast Conference (ACC) as a sophomore in 2010. As a freshman, he finished the 2009 campaign with 20 points and tied a school
record for goals by a freshman with 10 tallies en route to being named to the All-ACC Freshman Team. He finished his career at Wake
Forest with 83 games played (74 starts), 27 goals and 65 points.
The Erie, Pennsylvania native has logged time with the United States U-14, U-15, U-18 and U-20 National Teams. He also was captain
of the Columbus Crew U-17 team prior to beginning his collegiate career.

After a stellar rookie season with Riverhounds SC, Kay Banjo returns to Pittsburgh for the 2018 campaign.
In 2017, Banjo led all first-year Hounds players with six points. In addition to his two goals and two assists on the USL season, the
forward scored the team’s only goal in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.
Before arriving in Pittsburgh, Banjo was selected by Vancouver Whitecaps FC with the No. 38 overall pick in the second round of the
2015 MLS SuperDraft. He did not make an appearance for the club.
In 2014, Banjo played his collegiate senior season at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC). He started 22 games for
the Retrievers and led the team in goals (eight) and assists (six). His 22 points topped the America East Conference. Banjo was
unanimously voted America East Striker of the Year and helped UMBC reach its first-ever College Cup Final Four appearance. He also
was named First Team All-America East and National Soccer Coaches Association of America First Team All-East.
From 2010-12, Banjo played at Towson University, which discontinued its men’s soccer program after the 2012 season. He received
All-Colonial Athletic Association honors in all three seasons (second team in 2010, third team in 2011 and first team in 2012) and was
named to the conference’s All-Rookie Team in 2010. While at Towson, Banjo posted 15 goals and 11 assists in 43 games.
In total, the forward started 62 of his 65 appearances in the NCAA, scoring 23 goals to go along with 17 assists and 63 points.
Banjo holds dual-citizenship of the United States and Nigeria. He was born in Washington, D.C., but his parents are from Nigeria.

After spending time with Riverhounds SC via loan from Minnesota United FC of MLS in 2017, Joe Greenspan inked a deal with
Pittsburgh for the 2018 season.
In 2017, Greenspan started all 10 of his appearances with the Hounds. Logging 900 minutes, the center back tallied an assist to go
along with 25 tackles and 85 clearances. His efforts led him to two USL Team of the Week honors and a Player of the Month
nomination for May. In addition to his time with Pittsburgh, Greenspan played in four matches, starting three, for Minnesota United FC,
which acquired the defender via trade with the Colorado Rapids of MLS prior to the 2017 campaign.
Greenspan began his professional soccer career with the Rapids after they selected him with the No. 26 overall pick in the second
round of the 2015 MLS SuperDraft. He made four appearances for the MLS squad from 2015-16, and was loaned to USL teams
Colorado Springs Switchbacks (four games) and Charlotte Independence (six games) in 2016.
The Westfield, New Jersey native played collegiately at the United States Naval Academy from 2011-14. He was named National
Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-America third team as a junior and NSCAA All-America first team as a senior. In
addition, Greenspan earned Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year honors during his junior and senior campaigns, and aided the
team to its first NCAA Tournament win in 42 years in 2013. In May 2015, he was awarded the NAAA Sword for Men, which is an honor
“presented to the midshipman of the graduating class declared by the Association’s Athletic Committee to have personally excelled in
athletics during his years of varsity competition.”
After graduation, Greenspan served one year of active duty with the Navy in Colorado and San Diego while simultaneously pursuing
a professional soccer career. In June 2016, he was waived from obligations requiring him to serve two years active service before
pursuing a professional sports career and accepted appointment into the Navy Reserve.

Mouhamed Dabo comes to Riverhounds SC after beginning his professional career with in-state rival Penn FC.
Then known as the Harrisburg City Islanders, Dabo played two seasons for the club from 2016-17. In 2017, Dabo led the team with 78
interceptions and started each one of his 21 appearances. During the 2016 campaign, the midfielder helped the squad win its first and
only Keystone Derby Cup. He also logged 21 games played during his rookie season, giving him 42 career USL appearances to date.
Dabo made his professional debut on April 2, 2016, recording 21 minutes against the Charlotte Independence.
Before commencing his professional career in the USL, Dabo had a three-year stint in the Italian Inter Milan youth system from
2013-15.
A native of Senegal, Dabo amassed five caps and one goal for the Senegal U-17 National Team in 2013.

Mike Kirk signs with Riverhounds SC for the 2018 campaign after spending the 2017 season with the Rio Grande Valley FC Toros of
the USL Western Conference. The goalkeeper did not appear in a game last year.
From 2012-16, Kirk played collegiately at La Salle University. As a senior in 2016, the keeper earned a Soccer Six Defensive Player
of the Week honor and registered a career-high 10 saves in a single match against the University of Pennsylvania. Kirk also earned
a Soccer Six Defensive Player of the Week recognition during his junior campaign, in addition to an Atlantic 10 Player of the Week
honor. During his sophomore season in 2014, he posted career bests in goals-against average (1.20) and save percentage (.783), and
his six shutouts tied for fifth most in a single season in program history. He played in two matches, starting one, as a freshman in 2013
and did not make an appearance in 2012.
In his collegiate career, Kirk racked up 4,005 minutes, 176 saves and 15 shutouts in 44 games played. He finished with a .730 save
percentage and a 1.46 goals-against average.
Prior to his time at La Salle, the Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania native played soccer at Cumberland Valley High School, where he was a
four-year varsity player and named to the Mid-Penn Conference All-Star Team.

Todd Pratzner signed a deal with Riverhounds SC for the 2018 campaign after spending his rookie season with the USL-side Rochester
Rhinos.
In 2017, the defender posted 13 appearances (10 starts) in the regular season. He also started both of the Rhinos’ playoff games and
finished fourth on the team with 41 clearances, including postseason matches.
Prior to beginning his professional career, Pratzner played collegiately at Xavier University from 2013-16. He amassed 71 games played
(70 starts), four goals and one assist while holding down the backline during his four seasons. The center back was named to the BIG
EAST Conference All-Tournament Team as a junior, in addition to anchoring a defensive unit that set school records in shutouts (11)
and team goals-against average (0.84) as a sophomore.
The Lancaster, Pennsylvania native served as captain of the Philadelphia Union Academy team, as well as trained with the Philadelphia

Thomas Vancaeyezeele enters his first season at the USL level after playing collegiately at the University of Charleston (WV).
From 2016-17, Vancaeyezeele anchored the backline for the Golden Eagles. Named United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II National
Player of the Year in 2017, the defender helped Charleston to its first national championship in school history. He started all 24 of
his games played and recorded four goals and two assists en route to United Soccer Coaches First Team All-America, First Team
All-Mountain East Conference and Mountain East Conference Defender of the Year honors. In 2016, the defender started 15 of his 17
appearances and netted one goal.
While competing at Charleston, Vancaeyezeele also played for Mississippi Brilla FC of the Premier Development League in 2017. He
logged two goals and three assists in 14 appearances.
The Caen, France native began his soccer career with fourth-tier club Stade Malherbe Caen II of the French Championnat National 2
during its 2011-12 season. He later joined Hérodville of the Championnat National 3 for its 2013-14 campaign, when he posted 20

After signing on midseason with Riverhounds SC in May 2017, Romeo Parkes returns to Pittsburgh for the 2018 campaign.
Parkes started 19 of his 24 games played with Pittsburgh during the 2017 season. Finishing with three goals and three assists, he
totaled the second-most shots (54) and shots on goal (26) on the club. The multitalented attacker demonstrated his versatility, playing
both at forward and midfield over the course of the season.
The Saint Mary, Jamaica native’s first stint with the Hounds occurred in 2016, when he appeared in six games. He strung together a
five-game scoring streak over this stretch, netting five goals in the process. In his Pittsburgh career, Parkes has totaled eight goals,
three assists and 69 shots in 30 games played.
As well as playing for Pittsburgh in 2016, Parkes appeared in 29 matches and scored nine goals for Isidro Metapán of the top-tier
Salvadoran Primera División during its 2016-17 campaign. The striker played three additional seasons for Isidro Metapán from
2014-15, recording 68 games played and nine goals during this span. In total, Parkes has scored 18 goals in 97 games (four seasons)
with Isidro Metapán.
In 2009, Parkes began his professional career with St. George’s of the Jamaican National Premier League, the top tier of Jamaican
soccer. While playing for St. George’s from 2009-14, the forward was loaned out to fellow Jamaican clubs Highgate United (2011),
Tivoli Gardens (2012) and Boys’ Town FC (2012).
In addition to domestic league play, Parkes has four caps for the Jamaica National Team ranging from 2012-15. He scored his first and

Dan Lynd joins Riverhounds SC after spending his first two professional seasons with the USL-side Rochester Rhinos.
From 2016-17, the goalkeeper made 11 appearances for the Rhinos, most notably logging a .647 save percentage and three clean
sheets in 10 starts during the 2017 season. Over the course of his 11-start professional career, he owns a .622 save percentage, 1.27
goals-against average (GAA) and three clean sheets.
Prior to signing his first professional contract with the Rhinos in April 2016, Lynd played four seasons (2012-15) at the University of
Pittsburgh. As team captain during his senior campaign, Lynd recorded career-bests in minutes (1,606), GAA (1.51) and clean sheets
(seven) while recording the most consecutive shutout minutes in program history (380) since 2002. During his sophomore season, the
keeper recorded 87 saves in 14 games, which marked the most saves per game (6.21) in school history (minimum 10 games played).
In his complete collegiate career at Pittsburgh, Lynd totaled 51 games played, 230 saves, 15 shutouts and 4,681 minutes, the most
minutes in goal in program history.
While at Pittsburgh, the Penfield, New York native also played for the Pittsburgh Riverhounds U-23 Premier Development League (PDL)
team from 2014-15. Lynd recorded eight games played and 39 saves combined for these two seasons.
Lynd worked with current Hounds goalkeeper coach Hunter Gilstrap during his first two years with the Panthers (2012-13), as well as
during his stint with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds U-23 team.

Logging 456 minutes during the 2017 season, the midfielder placed three of his four shots on net. Defensively, he tallied 17 tackles
and 11 clearances. Fitzpatrick held a 2-to-17 fouls-to-tackles ratio, which ranked best on the team.
Prior to inking his first professional contract with the Hounds, Fitzpatrick played collegiately at Ohio State University and Urbana
University.
As a senior at Ohio State in 2016, Fitzpatrick appeared in 18 games (14 starts). In 1,247 minutes, the midfielder recorded 24 shots
and 10 shots on goal. The Hilliard, Ohio native accounted for four assists and scored two goals, including the game-winner in the
Buckeyes’ conference opener against Northwestern University.
BeforWe transferring to Ohio State for his senior campaign, Fitzpatrick competed in the Premier Development League for the Mich-
igan Bucks during the summer of 2016. He racked up 10 goals and three assists in 18 games played en route to helping the Bucks
capture a league-record third title.
From 2013-15, Fitzpatrick starred at Urbana, where he was a three-time All-Atlantic Region and All-Mountain East Conference (MEC)
selection. As a co-captain his junior season, he earned Ohio Collegiate Soccer Association All-Ohio first team honors and scored the
game-winning goal in the Blue Knights’ first-ever NCAA Tournament game – a 1-0 victory over No. 21 Millersville University. At the
NCAA Division II school, he was awarded MEC Freshman of the Year in 2013.
Across his four years of collegiate play, Fitzpatrick totaled 15 goals and 11 assists in 68 career appearances.

2017 Review
A Year of Peaks and Valleys

Needing to overcome a slew of injuries throughout the season, it was a year that could have been for Riverhounds SC. Amassing an
8-12-12 record, the team missed the playoffs after staying in the hunt for most
of the campaign. Pittsburgh finished the regular season 13th with 36 points in
the USL Eastern Conference.
Over the course of the 2017 campaign, 32 different players recorded at least
one appearance, which is the second-highest total in team history. A number
of season-ending injuries factored into the large roster turnover. Goalkeepers
Trey Mitchell and Keasel Broome, as well as starters Rich Balchan, Ben Swanson
and Marshall Hollingsworth sustained season-ending injuries. Key contributors,
such as forward Kay Banjo and midfielder Victor Souto, also missed weeks of
the season.
Despite the carousel of players in and out of the lineup, Pittsburgh eyed a
playoff spot in the second half of the campaign. The team caught fire in August,
as a Keystone Derby Cup-clinching performance fueled it to an undefeated
month (3-0-1). Winning the rivalry trophy for the second time in its three years of
existence, Pittsburgh capped off the series against the Harrisburg City Islanders
(now known as Penn FC) with a 3-0 road win, which marked three shutouts in
three games of its in-state rival. Joe Greenspan

A late-season skid proved to be the deciding factor that kept Pittsburgh from as a loanee from
postseason action for the second straight year. Facing six eventual playoff teams Minnesota last season,
during the final seven games of the schedule, Riverhounds SC could only muster anchoring the backline
three points. to four clean sheets.
About a month after the season ended, it was announced head coach Dave
Brandt, who logged a 13-25-16 overall record during his time with Pittsburgh,
would not return in 2018. Instead, former Rochester Rhinos head coach Bob Lilley would be at the helm for the upcoming campaign.
The 2017 season was Pittsburgh’s fifth at Highmark Stadium and seventh in the USL (formerly known as USL Pro).

Keystone Derby Cup
The Battle for PA

Created in 2015, the Keystone Derby Cup, presented by K&L Gates and the Pennsylvania Lottery, is awarded to
the season series winner between Riverhounds SC and Penn FC, formerly known
as the Harrisburg City Islanders. In the three seasons of its existence, Pittsburgh
holds a 2-to-1 advantage over its Keystone State counterparts.
The Hounds were victorious in the inaugural season of the Keystone Derby Cup,
and a miraculous comeback helped pave the way. In the second of four games
during the 2015 series, Pittsburgh found itself trailing 5-3 in the 90th minute.
Despite the deficit, the Hounds accomplished the unthinkable, winning the match
6-5 in front of the Highmark Stadium crowd.
In the 2016 chapter of the Derby Cup, the second of three matches proved to be
the deciding factor. Having tied the first and third tilts, Penn FC snuck by
Pittsburgh by a score of 2-1 in game two and went on to win its first-ever
Derby Cup.
Riverhounds SC bounced back and dominated Penn FC in 2017. Pittsburgh shut out its rival in all three matches
en route to winning its second Derby Cup in club history. This was the first time the Hounds shut out Penn FC
multiple times in a single season since joining the USL in 2011 (then known as USL Pro).

A new era officially arrived for Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC over the offseason. The club unveiled a new logo in advance of
the 2018 campaign, swapping out the long-time “Hounds head” logo – the trademark of the club since 1999 – for a
traditional badge look to coincide with an offseason of growth and change.
The new badge is rooted in the sporting culture of Pittsburgh. First and foremost, it is adorned primarily in Black and Gold
to further solidify the club’s standing alongside the three major professional teams in the city. Traditional colors of the
Steel City itself (most notably in the city’s official crest), Black and Gold
signifies a considerable shift for the club’s identity from its original “brick
and mud” scheme in its inaugural season to the blue used through the
opening of Highmark Stadium.
Paying homage to the 446 bridges that grace the landscape of the city, a
literal bridge links the words Pittsburgh and Riverhounds SC in the outer
band of the badge. The architectural elements are a direct inspiration of
Fort Pitt Bridge, which has provided a formidable presence in the West
Side backdrop of Highmark Stadium since the club began play at that
location in 2013. Furthermore, a checkered pattern anchors both sides of
the city name, drawing from the city’s crest as well.
A uniquely shaped shield centered within the badge provides striking
character, inspired directly from capstone elements within the entryway
of the Allegheny County Courthouse located downtown. Split diagonally
in Black and Gold, the crest holds the defining qualities of the club and
is bookended by “1999,” the inaugural year of play for the Hounds. Within
the shield is a soccer ball, as well as a “Hounds” paw to forever link the
club with the Riverhounds name.
The shield is buoyed in the element of water, as the three levels of waves
represent the three rivers of Pittsburgh – the Allegheny, Monongahela, Owner Tuffy Shallenberger at the reveal event on

Finally, the typography is custom, in direct inspiration of a wealth of
unique examples found throughout the city defined primarily by a flare serif quality.
The new brand identity was developed by Portland, Oregon-based graphic designer, Brian Gundell. Gundell specializes in
graphic design for athletics organizations, having worked with major brands such as Adidas, Nike, Under Armour and
numerous professional teams, such as the Miami Dolphins, Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants, San Diego Padres, LA
Galaxy and D.C. United.
Riverhounds SC began play in 1999 as a member of the USL-A League. The club has kept the Riverhounds name almost
primarily throughout its existence, adding “FC” for a short spell during 2005-06. The addition of SC (short for ‘Soccer
Club’) to the club name provides little doubt to what Riverhounds SC represents as a brand moving forward and its place
in the soccer world both nationally and globally.
