First Aid Box and Situation per Angie

1. First Aid Box to be wall mounted, although movable, with the correct signage displayed

2. Suggested that photo of First Aider responsible for First Aid Box be placed on the box for everyone
to be familiar with exactly who First Aider is.

3. Accident Register to be put into First Aid box and updated accordingly each time an incident
occurs

4. Monthly inspection list also to be completed by responsible First Aider

5. Ensure that no tablets whatsoever are kept on site or dispensed

Minimum First Aid Box Contents

1. Item 1 = Wound cleaner/ antiseptic (100 ml)


2. Item 2 = Swabs for cleaning wounds
3. Item 3 = Cotton wool for padding (100 g)
4. Item 4 = Sterile gauze (minimum quantity = 10)
5. Item 5 = 1 pair of forceps (for splinters)
6. Item 6 = 1 pair of scissors (minimum size 100mm)
7. Item 7 = 1 set of safety pins
8. Item 8 = 4 triangular bandages
9. Item 9 = 4 roller bandages (75mm x 5m)
10. Item 10 = 4 roller bandages (100mm x 5m)
11. Item 11 = 1 roll of elastic adhesive (25mm x 3m)
12. Item 12 = 1 noon-allergenic adhesive strip (25mm x 3m)
13. Item 13 = 1 packet of adhesive dressing strips (min qty = 10 assorted sizes)
14. Item 14 = 4 First Aid dressings (75mm x 100mm)
15. Item 15 = 4 First Aid dressings (150mm x 200mm)
16. Item 16 = 2 Straight Pins
17. Item 17 = 2 pairs large and 2 pairs medium disposable latex gloves
18. Item 18 = 2 CPR mouth-pieces or similar mouth-piece devices

Note

1. Should staff have their own personal or chronic medicine, this needs to be kept in their own
lockers or on their person
2. Due to nature of business and risks, it would be advisable to have at least 3 First Aiders
available on site
3. First Aid Certificates to be available on site for audit purposes
