Hi, my name is Erika Robertson, and I am currently a senior in the Video Production shop.
For my film festival project this year, I have decided to do a documentary revolving around
societal beauty standards and how it affects men and women respectively. I am currently
looking for students and staff members interested in participating in on-camera
interviews regarding this topic. I am looking for individuals who will take this opportunity
seriously and answer the interview questions sincerely. This documentary will be entered
in a myriad of film festivals including but not limited to the Passaic County Film Festival,
the Ocean County Film Festival and the Montclair Film Festival.

If you are interested in participating, please answer these preliminary questions. You are
free to answer as elaborately or concisely as you wish. If you have any questions feel free
to email me at 180467@pcti.mobi. Thank you for your participation!

1. Have you ever experienced pressure to conform to beauty standards specific to

your culture or religious backgrounds?

2. How have gender norms or their unrealistic standards affected you or your peers?

3. What group of people do you believe set beauty standards?

4. Why do you think so so many people struggle with their self-image?

.

The next set of questions are included to help with the casting for the documentary. I will
be trying to represent as many groups as possible (latinos, blacks, LGBTQA+ etc. )

1. What is your gender identity?

Cis female
2. Are you a part of the LGBTQA+ community? If so, would you be willing to represent
the LGBTQA+ community? (This is for the sake of not accidentally outing anyone
through the film.)
Definitely an Ally, I wouldn’t mind representing a community I feel deserves
representation (aka, heck yeah)
3. What is your race/ethnicity?
Black, native American (Mostly Black)

4. Do you have any other relevant information about yourself that you feel should be
taken into consideration for casting?
5. If selected to be in the film, what group would want to represent? (ie. black women,
the LGBTQA+ community, etc.)
Black Women
