Bass - Major Pentatonic Scales

(shown in all 5 positions)

The “Major Pentatonic” Scales also use 5 notes (A, B, C#, E, F#). As you will notice
the “Major Pentatonic” scales look similar to the “Minor Pentatonic” scales – with the
difference being that the Major Pentatonic scales start on different frets. Same
scales at new positions, but will sound differently when played.

Rock, and Jazz chord progressions).

Picking Sequence: It is suggested to “alternate” your picking (using the 1st and 2nd fingers of your picking hand) when
practicing any of these scales - this will help develop coordination and speed between your right and left hands.
