Melena Clemons to Take Part in Envision’s NYLF Pathways to STEM Alumni Camp
Kansas City – This summer, Melena Clemons from Kansas City will join outstanding Elementary school
students from across the nation to take part in a unique academic and career oriented development experience,
NYLF Pathways to STEM Alumni Camp in Gainesville, Florida.

NYLF Pathways to STEM Alumni Camp is one of the Envision family of programs
(www.envisionexperience.com) that enable students to explore their interests and experience learning beyond
the classroom.

Last year, 9 year old Kansas City, Missouri native Melena Clemons was invited to a special STEM
Program. Students to this program are nominated by an educator because they show proficiency and interest in
STEM-based subjects - Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. She was one of only a handful of
students from her school to be nominated. She spent a week in Chicago building robots, studying science, and
learning to become a better leader.

This year, as a member of the National Youth Leadership Foundation's Alumni group, an invitation has been
extended to her to choose from one of 8 different STEM camps being held across the country this summer. She
has a GoFundMe page set up at https://www.gofundme.com/MCStem2018 to help ensure that she is able to
attend this amazing camp again this summer.

“NYLF Pathways to STEM Alumni is a great opportunity for high-achieving scholars to get outside the
classroom and see, through hands-on interactive learning, how to innovate and think creatively,” said Andrew
Potter, the Chief Academic Officer for Envision. “These students, who have already proven themselves
academically, will be challenged to work on real-world, student-created projects to bring their studies and
career interests to life.”

Since 1985, Envision programs have served more than 800,000 students in more than 145 countries, with
programs designed to help students develop the leadership, scholarship and career skills needed to succeed in
today’s competitive college and career landscape.
