Upon entering the emergency room, patients are assessed within 2-5 minutes and registered with their name, chief complaint, age, and time of arrival. Their vital signs are then measured and their clinical urgency is determined based on a 3-point triage scale categorizing them as emergent, urgent, or non-urgent. The triage assessment details are documented and the respective clinical department is notified to further treat emergent patients while urgent patients wait for further assessment and non-urgent patients are referred to the outpatient department.
