He has taught my Biology and Chemistry classes. He has also taught a Chemistry and an Honors Chemistry class for another teacher here at the school. He has fulfilled all of the daily teaching, and planning duties during his time with me. Trevan has been a wonderful teacher to work with. One of the challenges Trevan faced during his student teaching experience was having to teach the same class for two different teachers. He taught my chemistry class but also taught a chemistry class for another teacher. He was very willing to integrate our two different teaching methods into his teaching. This situation also created two classes that were at two different places in the curriculum. He was very flexible in meeting the needs of each of the individual classes. He very effectively adapted his lessons to fit the different dynamics of two similar yet unique classes and teachers. Trevan used a variety of different teaching methods. He developed learning activities that were engaging and interactive. He used hands on lab activities in chemistry. He used simulation activities with the biology class. He also integrated the use of technology by using the class Chromebooks for instruction and assessment. The Canvas page of each of his classes was updated and well maintained so that the students could use it as a tool to stay current in class. Trevan also had the opportunity to conduct at Parent/Teacher Conferences. He did a wonderful job discussing the students’ progress with their parents. He conducted the meetings ina professional and positive manner. He was willing to make accommodations for students to makeup missing work. After conferences, and for much of the term, he was often meeting with students after school to help facilitate their success. It is my honor and privilege to recommend Trevan Thomas for any teaching po: a fantastic addition to any faculty.
