FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup is releasing the name of an eighteen-year-

old male involved in a shooting incident in the city of Champaign in the early morning
hours of March 23, 2018. Ricky Green of Urbana, Illinois was pronounced dead at
8:50AM on March 23, 2018 in the Carle Foundation Hospital Critical Care Unit. An
autopsy was performed at the Champaign County Regional Autopsy Facility on the
afternoon of March 23, 2018 and preliminary autopsy results indicate Mr. Green died
from multiple gunshot wounds he received during the shooting. This death is under
investigation by the Coroner’s Office and the Champaign Police Department.
