Type 4-131: Velocity Vibration Transducer
Type 4-131: Velocity Vibration Transducer
DESCRIPTION
The 4-131 is a seismic mass type velocity transducer designed for measuring vertical vibrations at low frequencies and high
temps up to +700°F (+371°C) or +900°F (+482°C). A seismic mass magnet is suspended by springs and a coil attached to the
case. The output signal results from relative movement between the magnet and coil when the case vibrates. This air damped
system operates above its natural frequency so the output is proportional to velocity.
SPECIFICATIONS
Sensitivity:
@ +77°F (+25°C*), 100 Hz, 1 IPS (25.4 mm/sec) RMS into a 10,000 ohm resistive load
INSTALLATION
Rigidly attach the transducer to the equipment under test using four screws and lock washers. Be sure to tighten the screws
securely. Connect one end of cable assembly to the transducer and the other end to the vibration monitoring device.
