Project Title Cløsure

Section 1: Rationale (Approx. 100 words)

Over the last seven units I have developed good knowledge of what needs to be done in terms of pre-production.
Thing such as planning and scheduling the project. I have learnt how to make the most of this time and deal with
problem individuals that waste time. I have also developed my directing skill. I’m becoming a lot more grounded in
what kind of director I am. I know what I want from my scenes as well as how to light them. I also like to take
multiple takes to help assist with editing.

Section 2: Project Concept (approx. 200 words)

My project tells the story about a teenage boy who is grieving the loss of his girlfriend who died suddenly. He never
got the chance to say goodbye. Months later he receives a mysterious package on his doorstep. Inside is a media
player filled with voice recordings of her. They are directing him to a location. This journey takes him and his friend
on a trip down memory lane along the way. When they finally arrive at the location he finds her there. She smiles at
him and they share one last dance together before she passes over. This place is essentially purgatory and by finally
getting a chance to say a proper goodbye she is able to pass over. For this project I will need lapel and boom mics
along with at least 2 cameras both with tripods, this allows me to film a scene not only with clear audio but a
mixture of camera angles running simultaneously.

Section 3: Evaluation Methods (approx. 50 words)

To document my work I will keep a project diary and recording production meetings where we can reflect back on
ideas we came up with as we were planning. This will also allow for us not to loose any ideas we come up with that
we forgot to write down. I can also reflect back on how our ideas developed and how I worked as a leader.

I will release a production survey to understand the mainstream audience and what they like. This would mean I can
see what they most popular genre is at the moment as well as things they would like to see in their movies they
want to watch.

I will watch movies with a similar feel and genre to help boost my creativity and get
inspiration. Films such as

 Only God Forgives
 Gone Girl
 Jacobs Ladder

I have also created a playlist to help write the soundtrack for the project. It has a
couple of songs I want in it as well as what I want certain scenes themes to sound like.
