Session 3 Follow-Up Questions

Leaders, look over the questions and choose the ones that you feel are most
appropriate for you students. You will probably not have time to get through
all the questions, so use wisdom and ask the most appropriate ones.

1. God’s Word says that there is life after death. What do you believe happens
when you die?

2. God’s Word says that “each person is destined to die once and after that
comes judgment” (Hebrews 9:27). Do you believe that you will stand before
God and have to give an account for what you did in this life? If this is true,
and God asks you, “Why should I let you into heaven with me and live
eternally?” What will you say to God?

 Note: This is where many of your students will say, “God will let me into
heaven because I am a ‘good person,’ or ‘I have done good things in my
life.’ Point out to them, after they answer, that the Bible clearly says that
“all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).” And that,
because they have sinned, they deserve eternal spiritual death (Romans
6:23).

3. Have them read Romans 5:8 and John 3:16 and Eph 2:8-9. Point out that the
only way to be right with God, to live eternally with God, is to trust in His
work (His life, death, and resurrection). Ask them if they feel God working in
their heart and their mind right now and prompting to accept Jesus as the
Lord and Savior of their life. Encourage them to respond to God and come to
salvation in Jesus.

4. For those that already know Jesus, have them read 1 Corinthians 9:24 and
talk about what it means to “run in such a way as to get the prize.”

 Use verses like Ecl 12:1, Matthew 6:19-21; and Ecl 12:13-14 assist you in
this discussion.

5. Have the students think of ONE specific way they can change the way they
“run” when they get back home. What is one area in which they can follow
Jesus more closely in order to “get the prize?”
