Davy Seereeenene Statement from Mayor Dave Norris I want to apologize for and explain my public silence the last two days since the mayoral election on Saturday. ‘The day before the election I had an unrelated, and most unexpected health issue arise that got worse over the ensuing hours and I had to check-in to the hospital Saturday afternoon. I've been with and conversed with only my family and the medical staff at the hospital since that time; so I was not ready to focus on anything other than health and recovery until today. Hopefully, there hasn’t been too much misinformation getting out about my circumstances. I am getting great care here at Glenwood, but I will need to stay a few more days to complete my recovery. We are confident of a strong recovery, and you should see me back to work, church, and life in the next few days, I am eager to be back at City Hall with all of our dedicated and outstanding city employees, and I’m determined to finish out the last few months of my time as your mayor as strong and effective as the previous 40 years. I want to extend my congratulations to Staci Mitchell on her victory in Saturday’s election. I wish her the best, and | am committed to working with her to make her transition into office as smooth as possible. love our city and our city government, I’m extremely proud of what we as a community have accomplished over the last 40 years, and I am grateful to have served as your leader throughout that time.
