Dear Assessors,
Being confident in my faith and in who I am as a woman has allowed me to message that to my
scholars. I have become knowledgeable about many skills and techniques of effective
leadership and teaching strategies. One of the key takeaways that I’ve implemented is the idea
that written plans offer tangible means for checking accuracy and completeness. This has
pushed me to be more intentional about the subjects I teach and how I teach the same
concepts to different scholars. This has in returned helped me to confidently deliver accurate
knowledge to my scholars consistently. A lot of my classroom lessons are now scripted, but also
annotated and differentiated for my learners.
I spend a lot of my preparation and free time differentiating to meet the needs of my scholars
and to push them beyond where they currently are in literacy and mathematics. High quality
planning considers all scholars collectively and individually. This type of planning pushes the
Instructor to meet the needs of all scholars. This also allows me to differentiate reading
assignments according to interest, knowledge, skills, and understandings amongst my scholars.
Pushing me as a Teacher to set goals that are short term and long term to see where my
scholars currently are and where they need to go.
Not only have I developed in my knowledge of lesson planning, organization skills, engagement,
and delivery, but in understanding the growth and development of learners. Through course
studies and readings, I’ve come to an understanding that the physical domain is made up of
activities that play a key role in helping children develop. It is my mission to equip scholars in
understanding their abilities and who they are in Christ. It is my responsibility to create an
environment that is conducive for learning and development. I envision scholars excited about
Christ, knowledge, and the process of learning.
My portfolio will display my love for executing excellence in faith and education. Each tab
within the website states and serves a purpose. Under the Standards and Abilities tab you will
be lead to a link of each standard and the artifact and rationale that demonstrates the
standard. It is set to demonstrate my understanding of Wisconsin Teaching Standards.
Thank you for dedicating time to view and evaluate the work I have done.
Sincerely,
Quanesha S. Medina
