Other Descriptions

A medical corporation which manages this facility began to propose the invitation of
foreign nurses in 1990 in anticipation of shortages of nursing and care personnel due
to a decrease in children in Japan. We also launched friendly cooperation mainly for
technology with a hospital in the People's Republic of China in 1992, since which we
have invited Chinese trainees in nursing techniques from the hospital to attend a
training school for nurses and obtain qualification as a nurse in Japan. Owing to its
location in the northern part of Wakayama City and near the two ports of a metal
industries company, this facility has exclusively rendered medical services to the crew
of foreign trade ships which visit these ports as a designated facility by immigration
Comments authorities. The number of foreign patients using this facility from these ships
exceeds 200 persons a year. There are also lots of Indonesian patients coming to this
facility. We have much experience in caring inpatients as well as outpatients. From
our experience in this field, we think it possible to carry out this project for accepting
Indonesian nurses and kaigofukushishi from a global and international point of view.
We are sure that our experience in training foreign nurses will be fully used in
carrying out this project.
