OTTAWA/GATINEAU, QUEBEC – VINTAGE WINGS OF CANADA FLYING

DEMONSTRATION
16-19 SEPTEMBER 2010

Procedures

A flying demonstration is to be held 16-19 September 2010 at the Ottawa/Gatineau

Airport (CYND) in Gatineau, Quebec. Special procedures have been established by
NAV CANADA, the Airport Authorities and Vintage Wings of Canada because of the
large volume of air traffic expected in the Gatineau area for the flying demonstration.
NOTAMs must be checked for the latest information prior to operating in the area of the
Ottawa/Gatineau Control Zone (CZ).

Air Traffic Procedures

The flying demonstration will take place within and around the Gatineau Control Zone
(Ottawa/Gatineau Aerodrome) from 1400Z to 2100Z (10:00 to 17:00 local time) on 18
September.

For further information on airspace closure, please check latest NOTAMs.

In order to avoid traffic congestion in the Gatineau Control Zone, a prior permission is
required (PPR) for all aircraft to land at or depart from the Ottawa/Gatineau airport:
-
1600Z to 2300Z (12:00 to 19:00 local time) on 16 September
-
1300Z to 2300Z (09:00 to 19:00 local time) on 17 September
-
1000Z to 2300Z (06:00 to 19:00 local time) on 18 September
-
1100Z to 1300Z (07:00 to 09:00 local time) on 19 September

Slot times will be assigned to all aircraft. Contact Vintage Wings of Canada at 819-635-
2727 or e-mail c.goyette@videotron.ca to obtain PPR and slot time. Information is also
available on the Vintage Wings of Canada Internet site: http://www.vintagewings.ca/

Flight Planning and Weather Information

Flight planning and weather information is available through the Quebec Flight
Information Center (FIC) directly, via the toll-free number 1-866-WXBRIEF (1-866-992-
7433) or 1-866-541-4105. Pilot Information Kiosk (PIK) is also available at the airport in
the airport terminal building in the departure lounge. The PIK provides aircraft operators
convenient access to NAV CANADA’s leading edge Aviation Weather Web Site
(AWWS), where real-time weather and flight information can be retrieved for effective
flight planning. The PIK also offers toll-free telephone access to professional interpretive
weather briefings provided by NAV CANADA flight service specialists.

Arrival Procedures

VFR flights planning to fly within the Ottawa class C and terminal class D airspace:

In order to benefit from immediate and effective Air Traffic Control Radar service thereby
minimizing delays and frequency congestion, it is strongly recommended that all VFR
flights wishing to penetrate or operate within the Ottawa Class C and Terminal Class D
airspace obtain a transponder code.
If you file a VFR flight plan or flight itinerary with NAV CANADA, a transponder code will
be assigned to your flight and you will be given this code on first contact with ATC. If you
do not file a VFR flight plan or flight itinerary with NAV CANADA, contact Montreal ACC
at 866-VFR-CODE (866-837-2633) at least 30 minutes prior to your flight to obtain your
transponder code.

Other VFR flights planning to remain clear of the Ottawa Class C and Terminal Class D,
contact Gatineau Radio on 122.6MHz to get the airport information and a transponder
code at least 30 NM from the airport. If you already have a transponder code assigned,
advise Gatineau FSS. Approaching THURSO (VCGUY) or CHELSEA DAM (VCHEL)
entry points (see arrival procedures below), contact Gatineau Radio on 122.3 MHz for
airport advisory.

VFR aircraft with cruising speed of 135 knots or more should plan a straight in approach
to the runway in use from outside the Control Zone.

All other VFR aircraft upon entering the Ottawa/Gatineau Control Zone should maintain
90 knots (or less) if able and follow the circuit joining procedures described below.

VFR aircrafts should comply with the following procedures:
