To Whom it May Concern,

My name is Melanie Stroup, and I am writing this letter of recommendation on behalf of Alexis
Daubney. I was Alexis’s clinical instructor at the University of South Florida’s College of
Nursing for her Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, Medical/Surgical Nursing 1 and
Medical/Surgical Nursing 2 clinical rotations, which she successfully completed at Florida
Hospital Tampa from summer of 2016 through spring of 2017. As her clinical instructor, I have
witnessed first-hand her interaction with nursing and healthcare staff, as well as her bedside
manner with patients. She is currently completing her final preceptorship for USF in the Medical
Intensive Care Unit at Florida Hospital of Tampa, and I have received numerous compliments on
her behalf related to her performance. Alexis is an extremely compassionate individual, and she
has always demonstrated high levels of competency and ability while caring for patients in the
clinical setting. Additionally, Alexis upholds the highest levels of professionalism, integrity, and
respect.

Alexis has demonstrated a strong passion and desire for nursing from day one of her academic
nursing career. She was always actively engaged in seeking out learning opportunities for
enhanced knowledge development. She demonstrated excellent growth and has always received
positive feedback from her clinical preceptors. In addition to her clinical performance, Alexis
consistently provided exemplary written work, and I considered her to be a top performer. She
demonstrated commitment to excellence and never failed to put her best foot forward and jump
at an opportunity. Alexis is also an excellent team player, and she always provided thoughtful
insight with group activities and discussions amongst her peers and cohorts.

Alexis is an extremely compassionate, driven, and intelligent individual with a strong desire to
be a nurse. She demonstrates these characteristics and traits at all times in the ways in which she
cares for her patients and communicates with her preceptors and healthcare staff. I have
personally witnessed her care at the bedside as well as how she communicated with the patients
and healthcare team, and I would be so very proud to work alongside her as a professional nurse.
I am happy to recommend Alexis for this opportunity, and I am more than happy to speak further
on her behalf.

Sincerely,
