Objectives:
• Understand and apply research principles and methods applicable to MBA;

How the assessment fits into the subject/course:
The assessment of this subject equips students with the theories, concepts and models which
support operations from a strategic perspective, design measurement and performance
management of operations
Assessment Linkages of Part 1 and 2:
Part 1 and part 2 of the assessment are interlinked and therefore students will utilise the knowledge
and experience gained from part 1 and apply in part 2.
Instructions:
Part 1
Students will create an operations plan and a process map for a product or service, including finding
a suitable mechanism/methodology by which to present it.
Students are expected to reflect the following learning outcomes in their plan and process map:
• Evaluate, apply and articulate the principles and quantitative methodologies to assist
decision-making in operations process planning, scheduling and inventory management.
• Critically evaluate the role of operations management in the strategic management of
organisations and supply chains
Output/Deliverable and parameters of the assessment
Students are expected to submit an individual operations plan and a process map for a product or
service.
RESOURCES TO BE PROVIDED:
• An electronic library and reading guide is provided to all students including a range of e-
textbooks and journals available through online journal databases including EBSCO.
