TYPE OF BUILDING/STRUCTURE/LANDSCAPE
Outdoor Fenced Astro Turf football pitch.
This location is suitable for my advert as there is a scene in which the main boy in advert 2 plays football with a group of his
friends. The Astro turf is brilliant as it has large football nets that I can use to help the mise-en-scene. Furthermore the green
floor and outdoor setting adds realism into the advert. On top of this the location also lends out footballs that we can use in
my advert; meaning everything is in one place and easily accessible.
ACCESS
GENERAL INFORMATION
People who might be affected by recording in this location:
Students from Bridgewater high school that may wish to use the Astro Turf for P.E.
Locals whom book a pitch weekly to play football.
Broomfield’s Leisure Centre.
Another risk of the location would be that if it was a wet day or had previously been raining the turfed floor would
be very wet and therefore slippy. This would mean there is a risk of actors slipping when they are running around
and playing football.
Describe the aesthetics of the location (e.g. Describe the potential camera shots or describe the acoustic value of the location)
The Mise-en-scene of this location works wonderfully for my advert. The natural blue sky and green turfed floor will set a realistic
outdoors scene for the football match to take place. I am going to have some long wide shots of all of the group kicking the ball
around, with the football net in the background. I am also planning to have a low angle close up of the main boy’s foot wearing a
sporty trainer kicking the football. I will then show the ball landing in the goal, thus creating a match on action that works
beautifully in the Mise-en-scene of the pitch. I am also planning to take a mid-shot of the group running in and hugging to
celebrate the main boy’s goal, with the goal in the background. I think that the setting of a football pitch works well in an advert
for teenagers as it is a large part of popular culture in England for many teenagers of both genders.
