Conceptual Framework

The study shows that there has been a slower adoption among SMEs that in the

large business organizations. It has also been shown that the rate of adoption of E-

commerce varies from industry to another industry such as manufacturing, production,

retail, service sector among others.

This study intends to objectively describe the adoption of E-commerce in SMEs in

Region 1. The conceptual framework of the study is viewed upon Daniels Stufflebeam

Model, a basic open system which includes context input, process, and output in circular

manner. The CIPP model is a comprehensive framework for guiding formative and

summative evaluations of institution and systems.
