The history museum Brasov

The Council Square is the beating heart of the City of Brasov. It seems
to be always busy but was never so busy as to be unpleasant. Standing
in this Beautiful Square you think you are in Saltzburg, Vienna or
Munich. It is up there with the Grand Squares of Europe. You can
certainly feel the German (Saxon) influences from the middle ages, and
despite the years of Russian occupation, the buildings survived and
have been beautifully restored to their former glory.

This building, apparently unimportant, was The Central Prison of

Brasov. I bet you all know Nicolae Ceausescu. Well, he was a prisoner
when he was 18, in 1936. In all that time, he learned french and he
became a member of the Cummunist Party, an experience which would
change the history of the country.
