MR Vaccine

Good morning. Thank you for joining us. I'm Putri Perbowo. This is ASDF Morning News, for
Wednesday, October 4th, 2017. We'll bring you the up to the minute news to keep you informed
every mornings.

Ministry of Health has included MR vaccine in national immunization program. The vaccine is
scheduled to begin in August to September for the island of Java and outside Java Island in the
next year.Immunization MR is for children ages 9 months to 15 years. Immunization begins in
two phases.
Minister of health targets MR immunization to cover six provisions in Java, covering 119
districts / municipalities and 3579 Public health. In addition, immunization is targeting more than
95% of the total of 34 million immunization targets in 2017.As is known, measles and rubella is
a contagious infection through the respiratory tract caused by a virus. This disease can cause
disability until death. Therefore, the minister of health emphasizes the importance of MR
immunization and is mandatory. Immunization can also be given even if children are immunized
against measles.
